They tried that once the criteria were all met last quarter. I'm surprised folks didn't buy it more generally.

A warning of recession only if Republicans cut if social security payments to 0.

Says the media.

It's fear mongering against Republicans.

Notice its a "warning of..."
So, they can say that Democrats have a plan to prevent it, while Republicans do not.

The stories they're going to concoct between now and Nov to run cover for this are going to be fricking wild

Two months ago Goldman Sacks said there was a 40% chance of “worse than a recession.”

That was before the inflation reduction act and student loan forgiveness.

If you can protect your assets do it, it’s comin baws.

They will likely need to start some more riots like they did in Portland and Seattle.

But it is her fault that there are so damn many sociopaths walking the street and murdering their own along with the good folk. She enables it.

Yep. That's what happens when the Fed bombs the housing market. Technically we did have two straight quarters of declining GDP, but the declines were so slight and the next quarter was up, the point is debatable.

Considering the level of full employment we have now, I'd say we are not yet in a recession, but if the FRB keeps raising rates to clamp down on inflation we won't have a "soft landing" the way they'd like, but get a full blown recession.

Thy have tried to hold off the truth to help Dems in midterms. We’ve been in one for a bit now.

Quite a few did. I can't tell you the number of people I talked with at that time who tried to carry that vague water for the administration. I would try to pin them down to exacting data, but none could ever come up with anything (because nothing more exacting than the shorthand "2 consecutive quarters of declining GDP" exists).

Advanced 3rd quarter GDP numbers come out 10/27 @ 8:30am Eastern. I'm expecting another drop (primarily due to energy and food prices continuing to spike). If so, the market continues taking a massive shite.

As I've been saying... this is only the beginning of the middle.
