Pelicans will waive forward Gary Clark today, sources tell ESPN.

Clark’s contract was set to guarantee today. Clark was brought in with the roster spot created by Didi Louzada’s suspension.

Unfortunate, because he's been playing well.

I wonder if this is a move where they'll bring him right back on a 10 day or something.

I don't think that we can bring him back. I think that the only way he could have stayed on the team was to fully guarantee his contact for the rest of the season.

He will land somewhere else, though.

I’d rather Clark over DD but I don’t think that’s the reason

Not sure if they can, but if they can bring him back I wouldn't mind using the Kira exception on him

Suprising. I guess we should expect to see Murphy in the rotation again.

The only person happy about this move is TM3.

The thing about Didi was that we were hoping that he could become a poor man's Herb Jones. Even if he develops, he doesn't really have a role on our team anymore. I guess that his contact is easier to trade---actually, I wonder if Clark's contract would have precluded a trade.

I think the initial plan was to have Didi succeed Hart. But the way Hart has been playing, they're not going to be actively looking to move him.

Man, I liked Clark. He played solid D and shot well. NAW, Murphy, and Naji should have been watching.

Basing any roster decision in any way on Didi is foolish at best. He will never be a meaningful contributor.

Very true, if we waived him to make room for Didi, that's just another in a long list of mistakes by Griff

Shamit says he is going to be back. Likely resigned using the Kira Lewis hardship exception. Allows team to utilize that and save some cap space for trade deadline (to take back more if needed). Edge, money move i think here. May even hand him the "Marshall" special

No way that was the plan.

Why is it unbelievable? They brought him over with a handful of games left in the season last year.

Hart was set to be a restricted free agent and admitted that he didn't want to stay here when free agency started.

We signed Louzada weeks before we signed Hart.

Hart was signed at the 11th hour when no teams made a bid for his services and the contract set up was meant to trade him.

But things change. Louzada is clearly not ready to play and Hart has had a change of heart since he rejoined the team and his play has reflected that.

He was and they didn't pick him up randomly. He fit the Herb model of being a multi-time conference POY and DPOY in college.

I believe regular 10 day contracts, not the COVID hardship ones, start January 10th. I wouldn't be surprised if he's signed to one of those in 3 days. Then gets cut when Didi's suspension ends, but comes back after a trade sends out enough people to clear a roster spot.

Pelicans make it official: Gary Clark is back on a two-way contract.

Team is waiving Jared Harper. Since Harper was signed from the Squadron, his G-League rights revert back to them.
