Brain injured man's estranged wife targets him for torturous death by starvation

Joshua Barras is a 37 year old Lafayette man who suffers from a brain injury. He was days away from his divorce being finalized when his injury occurred. His wife stands to gain a large sum of money if he dies and is fighting to try and starve him to death. She is making no attempt to get him any treatment even though she has done at least a dozen fundraisers and collected thousands of dollars in donations for his treatments. There is a court hearing scheduled for January at which time his mother is requesting guardianship be transferred to her so she can make the decisions in the best interest of Josh and get him therapy and treatment for his injury. I remember that thread, that was this same poster, they kept posting TicTok videos to make their case. General consensus was the wife was a bitch and the mom had been convinced by a few quack doctors that therapy would bring him back to normal.

The whole situation is scummy.
I feel for the mom, but I also doubt the son wants to remain like he is. Starving him to death is cruel, though.

Court has been postponed several times and is now scheduled for January. The wife says she is confused why people don't understand that she has a husband but is also gay. She has went through a few girlfriends and tries to keep everything hush hush now because of court

You're right about the wife but wrong about his mom. There are other people just like Josh, even worse off, who are making a recovery because they are getting the help they need. Josh has improved drastically in the last few months. There are videos of him responding to his mom. He turns his head when asked and he even told her no when she was asking him a question. Intensive therapy could really make a difference for him and he deserves to have that chance
