Hire just feels strange...

Not because it is bad, but because it is normal. LSU has had a couple of weirdos at HC for 17 years, and in Louisiana "weirdo" fits in with the general public. It is an odd thing to see a normal guy with the headset.
No more grass eating.
No more loony press conferences.
No more Red Bull smashing or bottle blonds.
It is a good thing, just different.

The guys a proven head coach, has won everywhere he's been. Nice to have a real football coach....

As I said about him yesterday before the news broke, he is a persnickety fellow. I think Saban is thought of as being humorless, but he has his moments. I haven’t seen Kelly in that way but maybe it’s just because we haven’t been exposed to him enough yet.

Very similar to Nick Saban coming in as far as the “feel”. I remember saying that I thought he didn’t “fit”. Hopefully similar results as well. I’m definitely good with Kelly dude is a legit coach. He’s not some quasi phony (Les Miles) or rah-rah Neanderthal (Orgeron).

It does feel out of place for LSU to make such a rational decision. Instead of a cartoon character they hired a real life, qualified, successful football coach.
I don't know if BK was the right hire but LSU needed a coach in that mold. Just a plain old steady head coach who knows the game. A guy who is just going to do the work. No more off field debauchery. No more comedy routines. Sure, hiring a guy like Lane Kiffin would've been more entertaining and fun but LSU had to break the cycle of wacky personality guys. They needed a regular coach and Brian Kelly might be the most regular coach in the country.

He can coach multiple positions too.

Riley didn’t want to be in the sec. he was mad about Ok accepting the invite to join the sec and he was never going to come here because he is scared of the situation
