It seems a significant part of the BK hire is cultural.

We've gone from Les Miles eating grass to Coach O ripping his shirt off in commercials. The national media love promoting those personas which I'm sure chaps SW's arse. Not to mention of which both have been or tangentially associated with Title IX issues.
Not a good look.
In SW's mind and IMO a vacuum of professionalism was created over the last several years.
I can say with confidence Brian Kelly does fill that professionalism void very well. I don't think we have to worry about any armature hour issues with BK.
I just hope that translates into Ws.

Culture will indeed be significant imho:
He didn’t coach many “inner-city“ kids, “country“ kids, or Cajuns at Notre Dame.
He will experience an entirely different “culture” at LSU.
How he relates will determine his success.

He’s Catholic and an a-hole.
So he’s a great cultural fit.

May be - heard from the friend of a current player who said he came from a high school where the program was very disciplined and no on had their phones constantly in their hands - to LSU where he said players were constantly on their phone and if a coach came by to tell them to turn it off or put it away they just laughed at them.
He said for him it was culture shock.

Well. Now we have the coach that’ll take their phone and smash it on the ground.

They were probably texting Ryan Clark instead of, you know, practicing.

He will run a show more similar to Saban, the days of guys sitting because they are scared of injury is about over . You are either in or out

Looks like a perfect culture fit to me

I had the same reaction. However, it starts at the top and I've felt that we seem to have an overabundance of undisciplined and selfish football players. The basketball team looks to be more disciplined on and off the court with Wade and girls BB, well Mulkey is a no-nonsense coach.

That’s a way to get players not to play for you right their

Well sorry you want a coach that’ll let the inmates run the prison.
“Will you please put up your phone, honey? For me?”

That’s a big part of it I’m sure. He’s perfect.

Do you even look at recruiting? He’s pulled kids from Atlanta, California, the hills of Kentucky, inner city Cincinnati, Cleveland, and small town Florida. He’s had to recruit nationally because south bend Indians isn’t exactly Miami Dade County talent wise.

I hope you didn't hurt your self with that stretch.
The personalities of both Miles and Orgeron were generally well received by the national press and for the most part resulted in a positive image of LSU.
I wonder how long will it be before Kelly says or does something to piss you pearl clutchers off.

Funny how Saban the disciplinarian wins with just these kinds of kids.
Failed analogy. . .

Oh, it won’t be long. He’s human and we are human. It’s what we do.
But hopefully the good far outweighs the bad.

All Tiger fans must be aware of the culture BK comes from, it is not cultural but educational. Recruiting for Notre Dame requires finding recruits who not only can play football, but also excel in the classroom. Thus, BK should not have too much trouble finding recruits who can meet the LSU educational standards, as long as they can read/write!
