The local Fayetteville branch of the ECLA, Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, created and supports the following initiatives:

1. Queer Camp - a welcoming indoctrination space for LGBTQIA youth held periodically at the church.

2. Transition Closet - a group of people who actively fundraise to support "transitioning" people, including distributing "binders" (tight sports-bra type things to conceal breasts) to people nationwide. They also have "trans" women in their leadership and "worship" team.

3. Canopy NWA - Refugee resettlement in Fayetteville and NWA. (They're doing everything they can to bring as many Afghanis to the region).

Take a look at what the leaders of Christianity were saying only like 200 years ago. Christianity is vastly different than it used to be.

Certain denominations, sure. But in general, no.

Eastern Orthodoxy is unchanged.

The ECLA are nearly as bad as the Unitarians.

It’s all just a business decision. They’re promoting whatever they think will make them the most money. They don’t give a royal f*ck about God or the Bible.

I guess. The one here basically markets itself as a queer church. Rainbow flags and BLM banners on the exterior. They need to get it over with and replace the cross with a Hammer and Sickle.

They don’t have a program like Camp Grace?

ECLA does not represent all Lutherans. LCMS is where it’s at.

ELCA is terrible.
I personally dont even consider that denomination a real Christian church. It's now a social justice warrior group that has a veneer of "Christianity" on it.

The LCMS, WELS, ELS are other Lutheran bodies that are scriptually very sound.

Missouri Synod is pretty conservative still. At least that’s the reputation.

Perfect description of it here.

Fortunately, it is a dying denomination. Turns out having Liberal allies in the community who never attend doesn't keep the doors open.

Not all, but a lot are these days. Martin Luther would be ashamed of the denomination bearing his name.

Anyone else find it ironic that the church named after the guy who caused the Protestant movement is now splintered and destined for an official split sooner rather than later?

It’s almost as if history repeats itself or something or like human nature never changes

With the ELCA and other places like it (I cannot say churches- I fight the progressive dictionary games)...when you have a philosophy not grounded in any written scripture and that openly embraces universalism....you essentially are a heretical group that marginalizes it's own purpose.

If all are saved no matter what then why try to follow anything whatsoever? This is why progressive places are self defeating.

The guy that runs this church puts lefty activism above anything resembling religion.

He is obsessed with the sexuality of children. I have zero evidence he's a pedophile, but he raises almost every red flag of someone that is grooming children and their idiot parents.

Parents around the area show their kids his Facebook pics with instructions to run far away from this creeper.

Wait until the Presbyterian Church (PCUSA) says, “hold my beer…”

ELCA Lutherans are what the Episcopalians are to Catholicism.

Their Politics come first before their Faith.

As was pointed out, Missouri Synod are true Spiritual and Scripture believing bodies of the Lutheran faith.

As has already been said, ECLA are not representative of the Lutheran church as a whole. When we got married I converted from Episcopalian (which is just as bad) to WELS Lutheran. The difference is night and day.
