couldn't tell you, just copying what I see on Twitter

Westgate had never reached a state championship game, with an 0-3 record in state semifinals in its history.

Edna Karr had not missed a state championship game since 2014.

Watched the Warren Easton Neville game. There was D1 talent all over the field, and college scouts out the yin-yang. Warren Easton is fast as shite...their qb is a stud, as are their receivers, and they absolutely shut AJ Allen down. (Will Campbell still pancaked dudes all over the field.) Neville, imo, made a mistake by refusing to adapt their game plan. Warren just loaded the box and keyed on Allen, and Neville just kept running Allen right up the middle and was shut down. (No clue why they didn't try something different. But in the end, Warren is the better team...and is freakishly athletic. Interested to see how the championship ends up, but I don't know who's gonna beat that team....

I think we won the state in 1958. Acadiana kicked 3 onside kicks and came away with 2. Ponchatoula scored in the only 3 possessions they had in the first half. Acadiana was a run and try to stop me offense. It was a great game.

Congrats Ponchy. Good luck in the dome next week. Will be rooting for you guys.incredible 2nd half.

It was a great game all the way around. The way our kids bowed their necks and kept fighting when they couldn't stop the run in the first half was incredible. I can't describe how happy and proud I am right now. This is a day I never in a million years would have thought I would see.

I love that these boys and this town have this. Of course, I have kids at Ponchatoula, so I'm invested in their success. It's been such a long road for some of these fans. They're soaking it up like no other. A new best in the time line that is my kids lives, and I hope they enjoy every bit of it along the way. Congratulations Ponchatoula and Coach Hank. GO WAVE!!!!

Edit: there, their, they're

I am not invested like you but I am a Alum and come from a family with grads all the way back to the 40's. Ponchatoula is a very tight knit and proud community. We haven't had a lot of athletic success. We haven't been a consistent winner since the 50's until Coach Hank decided to moved here. I can't wait to see how many people we bring to the Dome!!!

I am very happy to admit I was wrong for doubting our boys. Earlier in the year and even in the first 2 rounds of the playoffs we were committing a ton of penalties and I thought this would be our down fall. But all the credit goes to the kids for cleaning that up. As the competition has went up they have played more and more under control.

Soak it all in brother. I remember the first time we went in 2005. Amazing feeling getting over that hump. And like I said, incredible performance in the second half and at the end especially. A great game with two great teams to be able to watch as a fan really. And I’m proud of our kids coming back and not giving up after giving up that killer scoop and score. A lot to keep their heads up about. 12 out of the last 20 years making the semifinals is a great achievement in itself. Acadiana had a young team and I’m certain we will be back here next year Good Luck in the Dome!
