Urban is really the only big name available now that wouldn’t make this hire feel like a failure.

name me a coach not named nick saban, who has won national championships at more than 1 major university......
spare me the 'he left because he was scared of saban' shite. he'll leave in 5 years etc. no coach we hire is guaranteed to be here more than 5 years, whether they leave fore greener pastures, or they get fired (we do that), or any other reason. if you get urban for 5 years, you're competing for a title, and the talent will be loaded. if you get him for more than 5 years, its just a bonus.
i'm also a fan of rhule, but if Penn St fires Franklin within the next 4-6 years if they drop off, what stops Rhule from going home? Nothing, or no-one is guaranteed, so hire the guy that likely fits into making you top tier again right now.
