Riley has right to deny and tell people he isn't going anywhere because he hasn't been formally offered.

Well Shea on 247 said Woodward wasn’t going to offer the job to anyone “formally” without knowing it was coming back with a signature almost immediately. I like putting 2 and 2 together with this news…

But formal offers are rejected though. Deals fall through. This is an hour-to-hour deal at this point. We could be have him one hour and lose him the next.

Help me out here.

If OU wins tonight, is the formal offer still made tonight?

If OU wins tonight and the formal offer and acceptance still happens tonight, does Riley coach OU in the championship game next week?

LOL if Scott Woodward has waited this long to make the offer this board should fold like a tent and prepare for the worst. You're getting Mike Stoops.

Key word here is Formally . Assuming you’ve never had to work with contracts.

If that “formal offer” is made public then rest assured the deal has already been made.

No one, especially no one with Woodward’s experience, formally offers a job to anyone without knowing it’s already a done deal.

They know the truth. They're just manipulating the info to minimize the impact on Bedlam. Controlling the narrative is what the media does.

Replace formally with publicly and they hit the nail on the head.

I highly doubt LR has the stones to handle the immense scrutiny and pressure of leaving while the season is still going.

Riley will turn it down and he moves on to the next candidate.
