Went for first time in a while since in town for the holidays and the beignets are down right awful. They were even raw, uncooked inside.

Sad times for a place I grew up loving most of my life.

Like most every place else, they are probably being affected by the labor shortage.

I haven't been able to go in a few years but basically my entire life they had the same guy working and he never went light on the sugar. True hero. I'm trying to remember what the old building looked like before the walmart (I think). Didn't they have like a little garden walking area outside of it?

It’s always sucked IMO. Local place with a cult following. But I never understood the love. Like the shitty greasy pizza place in Government street.

Blasphemy. The gruff waitress hurt your feelings when there were no tables huh?

The only people who think FDL is good are those who are living off of the nostalgia of their little league baseball days.

Finally, something about which I can agree with you.

I imagine there's quite a bit more. Message boards just have a tendency to fixate on the disagreements

You're tripping, FDL is awesome. It's not an every day type of spot but it's good. Shocked it's still open due to the weird hours but it has never not been completely packed when I've been. BR doesn't have a ton of pizza spots to begin with that aren't chains.

ETA: LA really doesn't for that matter. There are some good local spots in every town but for all of the amazing Italian joints here it's funny that we don't have more real pizza parlors.

It is a bit inconsistent. When really busy quality can suffer as they rush to meet demand.

Had some tonight though and they were pretty good.

FDL is terrible. Rocca and Red Zeppelin are miles better. La Contea, Reginelli's, and Pizza Byronz are better. Hell, I'd rather have Papa John's delivered to my house than eat that crap

Fleur de Lis Pizza is not great not awful, even though they probably violate all kinds of health codes. What annoys is that they act like it’s your privilege to give them money and it’s some massive burden for them to make a pizza.

You’re anti-FDL, like you’re anti death penalty

Last time I was there(2019), the girl behind the counter was snagging bites of beignets off of the plate before serving them.
