Josh Heupel coming back home
Posted on 11/25/21 at 2:01 pm to Pmtiger
They aren’t hiring Heupel, lol.

This is true. Shane Beamer is the only SEC coach on the list. There’s a few other coaches with more history, but Beamer is high on OU’s list.

So are you saying OU has an active list of candidates??
Posted on 11/25/21 at 2:10 pm to BayouBengal1024
Yes. Check my post history. I said Sunday OU was told officially he was taking the LSU deal. They’ve started working internally on candidates.

If you had to guess, Do you think Caleb comes with him? Also, that 2023 OU class is loaded. I’d bet a few of those guys commit to LSU once the dust settles.

Riley is NOT leaving. Not a chance

A very good chance actually.

What’s the beef between OU and Heupel?
Posted on 11/25/21 at 3:24 pm to Tiger4life33
I want to preface this by stating, I have no knowledge on player stuff. My source and info I got was in the Ad, so I don’t want anyone to think I have inside knowledge on that question.
At the same time, it’s known that Williams was down to LSU and OU. Part of the reason he chose OU was because Joe Brady left LSU. He saw what Riley did with Baker, Kyler, and then Hurts.
So it wouldn’t shock me if he left as well, but the caveat would be if Ou got Shane Beamer. Beamer recruited Williams when Riley wouldn’t due to Brock. Beamer recruits all the DC area players. Could Beamer convince CW to stay? Maybe, but one of the biggest reasons he chose OU was Riley being the coach.
Full Athletic article on his recruitment and the family talking about how Caleb was going to walk on at OU, his relationships with Riley, Brady, etc.

Heupel was the scapegoat because Bob wouldn’t let him run the offense like Josh wanted to, and Josh’s offense was built to go fast and score fast, which Bob didn’t want because it exposed how bad Mike Stoop’s defense was.
So Bob overruled him multiple times on what type of offense to run and playcalls. Bob then fired him for the poor offense.
So Josh doesn’t like OU because he wasn’t allowed to coach like he wanted, and then was blamed when things didn’t go well.

I have to say OU is doing a damn good job of keeping this quiet. A bombshell like this that everyone outside of OU/LSU is saying won’t happen.
Posted on 11/25/21 at 3:46 pm to Tiger4life33
As stated in earlier posts, OU media and OU AD are very close with each other. Bob Stoops retiring was known by the OU media, but were told to keep it quiet, and they did, until 1 jackass decided to break that, and reported it. The OU AD was pissed.
Before bedlam, this was not going to break by the OU media, because it would overshadow bedlam, and OU doesn’t want that. Not with Bedlam and a CCG appearance at stake.

What would be your motives to do such a thing aside from trolling? I’m looking at this as a true LSU fan. If we were losing a Lincoln Riley to another school, I definitely couldn’t see myself creating an account to that team’s message board, let alone, let them in on everything I know to be true.
What does this benefit you? I want to know what you’re getting out of this. It’s not like you’re a long time poster looking to put skins on the wall. You’ve been here a week. What’s your endgame? I guess I simply don’t see what you get out of doing this. The gratification of having the truth be told?
I will say one thing, if you’re a troll, you should teach a class on it, because you're fn elite level. You put a lot of time and effort into this, I’ll give you that. However, me not being able to understand your motives doesn’t mean that you’re lying, but it does prevent me from believing you.

Grinch wants it. Some within the program want Grinch. Ultimately, they'd reach out to Heupel and he'd come back to OU.
Can't stand anything about OU but Heupel was a good QB there and has turned into a really promising coach.

What’s the story there?
Scapegoated and fired after a disappointing OU season. Defense was ranked 56th, offense 21st but the DC was Mike Stoops.
