The only thing, and it’s a standard thing every school does, is OU is looking into the texts and emails of the staff, to make sure there was no deal with USC during the bye week. Similar to most coaches, there’s a clause in the contact that states if you or your agent is approached by another school, you have to let your current one know.

Most get around this by having the agent speak to someone who is speaking on behalf of the school. So nothing will come of that either, except maybe Roy manning if he was dumb enough to use his university phone to talk to USC recruits.

Of course, because Lanning is being interviewed tonight.

I can assure you though, John Hoover will not be breaking the hire. I'm sure y'all have writers just like him, but he just grabs whatever everyone else posts and uses that. I'm not sure he even says "sources" anymore since he doesn't have any.

They don't, and have said as much. They didn't know Lincoln was leaving for USC until twitter told them. They read things online just like everyone else. As soon as they find out, everyone knows, because when you tell 80+ players, one of them at least will tell someone else, who tells someone else, etc.

So he's literally the dude that goes "According to my wife's sister's husband's mother, OU is making a big hire"

The reality is, none of the insiders know, because Joe C's circle is extremely small, after he had his list of candidates. The president, Joe C, and the chair of the BORs are the only ones that know, besides the candidates themselves.

Joe C actually leaked the Matt Rhule stuff, and everyone ran with it, and he found out who was leaking things with that.

I said from the beginning there was interest from Dabo with OU, but I never could find out if it was actual interest, or him helping himself in negotiations.

Unfortunately, with interviews, I'll never find out until it's over, since I don't have connections with agents, just with OUs AD, which won't know until it leaks. I just know there was interest. After Dabo, Fickell was next, but I doubt they'll go for him with him in the CFP. They'll move to Aranda, Brent, and Lanning after that.

Brent already has said he'd take the job, so that's their floor.

Definitely not. I actually was led to believe he wasn’t using trace and was using a lesser known agent at Athletes first, and Trace only got involved if there was a need (never was). Apparently that wasn’t true either.

My stuff came from the OU side, hence why my recent posts have been what’s going on inside the OU AD. OU had no clue about USC. They’re actually fairly pissed as well, because Lincoln Riley was out in LA during the bye week for recruiting, and they now are wondering he was house hunting, because he was out there several days.

That would be the expectation if the fall back with Brent.


Lebby has been signed off as being ok from the administration. There were concerns because his father-in-law is Art Briles, and Art Briles isn't welcomed in Norman, but Admin is ok and willing to pay for Lebby should they go with Brent.

Dabo was looking at a local softball team for his non-existent daughter.

He wasn't. He was in Bama, recruiting for Clemson.


If it was Brent, it would have been announced already.

Joe is working on Dabo, and plans to talk to Fickell if Dabo says no.
