I still don't understand why people are falling for that.

I said way back (wednesday on here) that there interest, but from the get go, the expectation was it wasn't real interest, and just using OU for a bigger raise.

His agent did reach out and I'm sure Joe talked to the agent, but I'm sure he quickly realized what was going on.

That's what Football Scoop posted. I assume they got that from his agent. I would assume Aranda is at least interested if he's interviewing. Originally, there were questions if he would want to jump to OU. He enjoys Baylor.

Part of the issue is, OU wants the next coach to keep a lot of the OU guys that are on staff. Not sure a guy like Aranda will agree to that.

Everyone is reaching now, because Joe C leaked Matt Rhule, and they all ran with it, which showed who couldn't keep a secret. So nobody has heard anything since the beginning, because only Joe C knows. It's assumed he's keeping the president and the BOR chair updated, but those are the only two he's talking with on actual candidates.

So since nothing is getting leaked, everyone is making up rumors.


As I posted way back, Dabo was a candidate. His agent reached out to let them know he was interested, but OU didn't know if it was legit or being done for a raise. Because it's all quiet, I have no clue what the update is from the list back in the post below.

On the contrary. They are prepping the big announcement. I haven't gotten confirmation that they landed Dabo yet, but they are in talks. I was told they’re trying to upstage the big 12 title game with this announcement as a big middle finger to the conference and Ok State

As I posted in a different thread, they'd plan to offer 12m+ a year for him. They are trying to interview him though and reached out to his agent to gauge interest, and were told there is some. They are worried though he's just using them for a raise at Clemson.


Either way, expect OU's process to get drawn out some unless Dabo just says yes quickly, which isn't expected. Joe C is in Norman for the honoring of Lon Kruger's at the OU Florida basketball game. So clearly nothing is happening tonight nor was it expected.

No. Plan is to talk to Fickell after the game. Should Cincinnati make the playoffs, if Dabo says no, and Fickell wants it, they'd offer him the job. He'd go and recruit for OU and have to work out with Cincinnati whether or not they'll let him coach the CFP.

Of course, I'm not sure Fickell leaves for OU anyways. I just know he's 2nd on OUs list, behind Dabo.

Maybe people outside of Norman don’t understand, but there is major bad blood between Heupel and Oklahoma.

I said in earlier posts, but Heupel was a scapegoat that Bob used, to try and protect his brother. Josh Heupel wanted to play uptempo offense at OU, and Bob told him no, because it would make Mike’s defense look even worse. So Josh was forced to adjust, which then he got fired for not having a great offense.

Josh ain’t coming back to Norman for anything, until Bob is away and Joe C is gone.

None of those guys are even on the list.

Bob doesn’t want to. He doesn’t like the amount of work it is these day. He enjoys his vacations to Cabo.

I know y’all got your coach in Brian Kelly (some happy, some not), but I figured I’d give you another inside scoop on OU. I previously reported that Lincoln Riley told OU he was leaving, which was true, although he apparently used LSU to help get the deal he got from USC.

Anyways, in that, I stated there’s only 1 head coach in the SEC that OU was interested in, which is Shane Beamer.

I’ve now been told a list, most that are known, a few who aren’t. What I learned though is, there’s a name at the top of the list, that OU is pursuing, that isn’t SEC, but might be of interest to you due to this being CFB.

Everyone knows OU likes Brent Venables from Clemson, BUT, the main candidate Joe C is trying to convince to come, is Dabo Swinney.

I personally don’t think Dabo would leave, but OU is apparently offering him a $12m deal to coach at OU, and lead them into the SEC.

I guess we’ll see where this is going. Dabo is number 1 on the list, Fickell is 2nd, and then it becomes unknown from my source where Lanning (UGA) and Venables are.

Dave Aranda is on the list but not high up because OU believes he isn’t leaving.


Edit: I should add that Rhule is on the list, but I don’t actually think he’s interested.
