Train your dog better
ETA: this reminds me of a story about a girl, let’s call her “Melmut Mead”.
She adopted a poor animal, and swore to love it forever and take care of it, and let everyone know how awesome she was for taking care of it.
And then life got hard. And she didn’t like it as much when it wasn’t easy. So she dumped it off on someone else. And broke its heart.
Then she felt bad and it made her look bad so she went and got it back.
Then it wasn’t easy again, and there was friction with her kids, so she dumped it off once more.
Do you want to be like this person?

sometimes Camp Bow Wow helps with this.

you don't rehome a dog after 11 years. that's pretty insane. it's part of the family now.

So your dog is acting like a normal dog and you want to get rid of her because you decided to have 3 kids and it’s “too much”? Get a grip dude my God

You don't get rid of a dog after 11 years. If you quit on that dog you're just a quitter.

Get a trainer
Email me at LSUJML at yahoo if you need a recommendation of someone in BR area
She will come to you & see what the issues are & give you different ways of correcting them
ETA
Getting rid of dog after 11 years is absolutely horrible

My lab-mix is 11 years old
thats about all you get out of a lab. either figure out a solution at home or give her a kiss and put her down. there are shelters/rescues that take elder dogs, but those are usually dogs whose owners have died. dont add to the problem there with your dog

you should. imagine your parents abandoning you because they were too impatient or lazy to train you how to act.
you're the world to her, that should mean something.

Take 30 minutes out of your day and take her on a run. It'll be good for you and her

Again, you need a trainer
There are ways to fix the issues you are having
Keep her out of the kitchen during meal time
Take her on family walks in the evenings with the kids
Unless you personally know someone who would take her I would not rehome a dog that age
She will not be adopted at the shelter & every local rescue is begging for more people to become fosters

She isn't comfortable. I'm telling you, she needs more one-on-one attention than any of us can give her. Her anxiety levels are off-the-charts when she's overstimulated by the kids. She needs more exercise than we can give her
So maybe give her some more attention.
If everyone is saying you are a selfish twat, maybe you should take a long hard look at yourself.

SHOCK COLLAR.
It may seem inhumane, but it is the quickest way to get rid of undesired behaviors. Certainly preferable to rehoming her.
It works.
Also give her more positive attention, and reward her for desired behavior.

You feel like one because you are a bad dog owner. 11 years? Good Lord. I can't believe that you're even asking this shite. Your dog is pushing 80 and you just want to abandon it?

The "right home" IS YOUR home. That's all she knows, dumbass.

Congrats on thinking about them eventually checking you into a shitty elder care facility.
