How do I explain to my small white children?

That some people hate them? That some people want them dead and might try to run over them? That because of their skin color they might be targeted? Has anyone had “the conversation”?

How do I explain to them that they might be overlooked for high paying positions or even admission to a private university based solely on the color of their skin?

Try explaining to them that they'll have to score about 20% higher on standardized tests and have a much higher GPA than some others to get into a good college.
