What’s your go-to landscaping shoe?

I’m constantly in the market for landscaping shoes because nothing seems to keep my feet dry or stand up to the abuse.

Here’s my priority list:
Comfortable (breathable/ can work in them all day)
Waterproof - not water resistant
Firm soles for shovel work
Durable - won’t wear out from pinching from squatting
Easy to clean

I’ve had the best luck with Adidas Terrex GTX, but they only last 2-3 months before falling apart. I’ve tried just about every other brand, the biggest failure being “waterproof,” which usually fails after a week or two.

I’m turning to you, landscapers of the H&G board, for your recs. White new balance shoes need not apply. TIA!

Merrell is the answer you seek. I run solo op landscaping on the side. My step counter is easily over 10k steps each day. I replace every year, but they still have plenty of life when retired.

I prefer waterproof low tops. Lets me get working early on dewy or damp morning. The low tops breath pretty well. In fact I only work in two shoes, the Merrells and shrimp boots for when its real nasty.
