Why is anyone allowed to be on government assistance longer than 6 months?

Seems like we should have a maximum allowed time limit to be on government assistance. Maybe people will get off their fat arse if they know they will go hungry if they are still unemployed after 6 months.
Also we should put a limit on kids that you can put in government assistance. After Kid number 2, you don’t get any additional help.

This can hurt the kids more than parents. My vote is to require a parent to have tubes tied/vasectomy if they have kids on welfare for more than 2 years in order to continue receiving support for their current dependents.

For real, all those welfare queen farmers; oil companies getting subsidies; big-box retailers paying poverty wages; drivers on public roads; kids with parents in public schools; people who were rescued by fire fighters, cops, ems, coast guard; and or users of the internet should only be able to use their government assistance for 6 months.
