Man I think Tai is sinister and it'll only come out more going forward. I think she might've overthrown Lottie and season 2 will have them going after one another. Who knows though? I love all the possibilities it opens up for season 2. Season 1 hit a bit of a lull there in the middle episodes, but enjoyed the finale.

Tai definitely is sinister and withholds info from the group like the PI. But she will show emotion for people she loves. Shauna though just shows no human connections and is so non challant about killing people. And yet she plays the victim housewife too. It’s pretty cool how they managed her.
Natalie may be the most redeemable character on the show. So far.

I couldn't have summed up my opinion of them any better. Tai is definitely sinister though. Shauna is definitely bordering on sociopathic tendencies. Nat seems sort of always broken spirited but def in the current timeline, just poured it into drugs and alcohol which never fixes anything.
Not a big fan of reddit but might venture over there to see what kind of theories they are coming up with.

Seems so.
The heart in her basement shrine seemed pretty large for a smallish dog, but maybe I’m misremembering throw dog’s size.

If that’s the case, did she stop believing in their forest blood-god, for lack of a better term, until the stress brought it out of her again?
Were all four of the adult survivors we’ve seen all season devote followers of the blood-god?
Did Misty ever stop? She’s one of Lottie’s first disciples, as shown in the last moments of this episode. Has she been sacrificing old people this whole time?
Are Lottie and the blood-god’s followers coming after the apostates?
“Shed blood, my beautiful friends…
And let the darkness save us.”
That reads like a command or mantra.
In the episode intro, you can see the face of the man in the doorway a bit clearer than what they showed in the episode. He’s been there since the first time they had an intro, I believe. Looks slightly like the gay coach, but isn’t.

In the credits? Let me go back and look. Could be the same guy from Jackie's dream/vision. I am starting to think that we, the viewers, were seeming the survivors as all still possibly part of the cult. The only thing that keeps me from thinking that completely about all of them is Natalie, she would never have been down for Travis being killed. Odd though how she was about to off herself and just like Misty did prior, the cult gang bursts the door down and saves her from herself again (granted we don't know if she is "safe" once taken).

Yes.
I guess it’s possible the folks that posted that online did some color enhancing on him, though.

Interesting. Looks sort of like the coach, but not. I noticed his picture in the high school hall memorial looked different. But I honestly have no clue.

I haven't watched the finale yet, but seems like a Wendigo might explain a lot of what's going on out in the woods.

Did Travis continue to follow Lottie and her new cult members? Then tried to leave. They offed him and took all his money Scientology style.

That was a very anticlimactic finale. And choosing to freeze to death rather then go inside with people your mad at wtf.

You might not be off on that. I feel like Jackie fell asleep and probably got "trapped" in her dream, so to speak, and was so comforted by the dream at first that "IT" wouldn't let her wake up and go inside. Maybe the postcards are about "Wish you were here" as in its been a while since you left us to go out on your own (secretly still believing) but we want you back.
Also, anyone notice the swank "scientologist type" rehab (atleast what I would imagine one being like) that Tai got Nat in at the very first episode? I wonder if that has any bearing.

Has anyone talked about the meat slicer used to saw through bone (Adam). I hate when movie's frick up like that. A meat slicer isn't cutting through bone.

When Jackie saw Laura Lee in her death dream that’s when she realized what was happening but she couldn’t wake up.

Also weird that nat took the shrooms at the party and saw a mirage of Misty and said "Misty?" Weird foreshadowing.

I'm sure you can cut through all the joints though

Just finished, and I have many questions. I really hope the show continues mainly just because of how many questions there are with it that id love answers to. The finale was a little disappointing, as I feared, but all in all it was solid though.
I don’t know how hypothermia works, but I’m pretty sure you wouldn’t sleep through it, right? Like you’d wake up cold over and over, so are we to assume Jackie was so mad she chose to stay outside and freeze to death? That was disappointing, but played pretty well anyway.
Am I the only one who thinks the shrine and dog head could be the son instead of Taissa? I realize she’s the obvious and implied choice, but they beat us over the head for half a season about how fricked up that kid is.
Shauna sucks so much and I hate her. Which means she’s a good character though. But that psycho shows zero emotion with anything. Interested to see how they explain away the news story on Adam to their daughter though.
It seems a little weird thst Tai wasn’t getting real time updates on the polls. It’s not like you have to wait until it’s all the way over and counted before you know how you’re doing. And obviously she was gonna win. It seems odd that she’s so into doing all of this illegal shite since she has the most to lose.
Misty is insane and Ricci plays her well. The cigarettes were a nice touch. Clearly she wasn’t gonna let that chick just walk away. And the lady overplayed her hand instead of just getting the frick out of there and into safety.
I’m sure there are more but that’s off the top of my head right now. Interested to see where they take things next season and I hope it doesn’t take a year and a half+ for us to get it.

Not to be callous but this is my only real
World knowledge. In the freeze last year, an immigrant family let their kid go out and play in the snow but then come back into a trailer with no heat. His family was from Mexico I believe and had no concept of hypothermia. They just threw blankets on him and he died of hypothermia in his sleep.
Awful story of course but that’s my understanding of what happened.

Just read a post on Reddit about one fan theory that has been debunked by the creators, and DAMN, it would have been amazing...
The theory was that pit girl was CALLIE (Shauna's daughter) and that the opening scene of the show is a flashFORWARD rather than a flashback. That would have been amazing. Sadly, the creators have confirmed pit girl is not Callie.
ETA: A couple of other interesting tidbits:
1. Misty and Adam have the same license plate on their cars. The creators said this was just a mistake
2. When Shauna reads Jackie's journals in the present day, the journals reference movies that came out AFTER the girls were stranded in the wilderness. The creators have said that's not a mistake (even though they said Jackie is dead), hmmmmmm.
