Can someone fill me in? I keep seeing the casi-no! signs everywhere. Is it a religious thing? If Republicans think gambling is immoral then they can just…. not gamble. Seems pretty simple to me.

Is there a better justification than Republicans fighting against something for religious reasons instead of letting adults make their own decisions that don’t effect them?

They don't want the area to be trashed out by gambling addicts, chain smokers, and booze hounds?

Is that going to happen? Wouldn’t those types of people just go/stay in New Orleans?

Don’t most middle aged golfers bet money on their rounds, and drink throughout the entire day? What’s the difference?

A St Tammany casino won't draw tourists. It'll draw the sad local trash who'll spend money they can't afford. You'll see more payday loan places, more used car lots, more pawn shops. If you want that, vote for it. A lot of people don't. There are already plenty of places to gamble if you want to.

Somebody is going to get rich off this and it won't be the sad sacks throwing their money away at the casino. Think of the usual suspects in St Tammany who always seem to have a hand in everything.

Casinos are a scourge and a blot on the city. I wish there weren’t any in Shreveport-Bossier.

Just as easy to get to Slidell from The East. Plus the tables will probably be a lot lower.

I remember going to the "Casina" boats at the lakefront harbor... One time is all it took.. That shite was NO East Gangsta.. MF's were asking me for money.. It was bad.. real ghetto bad. I don't blame the people from Slidell for not wanting this crap...

When I go to Biloxi or Philadelphia, Ms I don’t see trashy, crime riddled neighborhoods

Bad places anywhere you go really

Well, that is the definition of the Louisiana inhabitants now! Why not profit off the inevitable?

My mom says that my grandfather didn’t allow cards to be played in the house growing up, not just gambling. No cards at all
