I mean one is defense and the other offense. I’ll go with Maleveto.

Malveto. I’m used to seeing a shitty LSU offense but the years that we have a shitty defense are unbearable, and Malveto was the ultimate in uncharacteristically horrible LSU defense

Maleveto was worse, though Peetz could have been on Hallman’s staff. He’s that bad.

y’all know that Malveto defense was ranked like 32 in total defense in the country that year?

horrible by LSU standards? sure, but not horrendous relatively speaking.

but we’re currently 93rd in country in total offense.
that’s just plain shitty.

Peetz or Cameron is the better question?

No one cares about total defense, we were 56th in scoring defense in 2008, and we were a bad 56th at 24.1 PPG. We’re currently 70th in scoring defense at 27 PPG. And aside from 2020, 2021, and 2008, we’ve pretty much fielded elite defenses across the board.

Not sure why you wouldn’t adjust for our normal standard of play when you’re talking about how miserable it is to watch a way-below-standard defense.

We’ve been 75th or worse in total offense 8 times since 2009. I’m sorry but watching our defense suck is way more of an anomaly than our offense being garbage. We’re “just plain shitty” on offense way more often than not these days

2008 d was only so bad because the qb threw 16 int. the team went 4-4 during that stretch.

Think about it.

Peetz has far underperformed in my opinion. I was expecting passing trees with bradyesque rubs and picks with balls coming out early and receiver getting the ball going north south maximizing run after the catch

Instead this looks like Ensminger style antiquated 10 yard buttunhooks and 10 yard down and across. Leather helmet stuff.

Additionally Peetz continues to be late getting the play in to the QB which eliminates any chance of uptempo pacing

FWIW I'm just sayin... : :

Correct, no one can convince me O isn't controlling the game plans and has final say on play calling. He admitted that on his radio show.

Too much recency bias.

Clearly malveto

Offenses were not nearly as advanced and we were the strongest D in the country

Those 2 jackasses ran it into the ground immediately

It’s hilarious that if Ed wasn’t being shitcanned, he’d be firing yet another coordinator after just one season. What a bum.

Malveto. Peetz is handicapped with a terrible qb

Coin flip. Both had plenty of talent, their scheme and in game adjustments were/are epically bad.

The offense averaged 31ppg with Lee in 2008 and at the time that was a lot for LSU so the defense sucked no matter the excuses.
