Does anyone know someone who was able to use a religious exemption to get out of a vaccine mandate? I’m curious to see what arguments/statements were made that were successful. I might need one coming up here pretty quick.

Do you have a religious reason for not wanting this particular vaccine?

If so, take those thinky voices in your head and put them to paper.

Is it really considered standing up to the man if you hide behind fake religious exemptions? I would think telling them to take this job and shove it would be the alpha thing to do.

I was able to get an exemption a week ago.
Mostly via quotes from the EEOC and the good book.

Submitted my request on 10/15. Have not heard back.

I think my company (Aerospace) is triangulating between reasons they'll accept vs lost workers vs how many more can we get vaxxed.

you define your religion. nobody has a right to say you don't believe in your own beliefs.

I just received the approval for my religious accommodation request today. But they did say that "The final details of your accommodation will be determined based on your work location and/or customer requirements." So basically my company has to work with the contracting officer on the government side to determine if my request for accommodation can also be accepted on the customer (government) site. We are currently working from home, and have been ever since the original shutdown, and from everything I've been hearing is the telework will most likely be permanent. So I'm hoping that the government side doesn't refuse to let me work on the contract. But either way, I'm not getting fired from my company for the time being.

ETA: I based my religious accommodation request on the following three issues:

1. It is my firm religious belief that God commands us to go to Him in prayer when we face major decisions in life, and he is faithful to lead us in those decisions. And I have been in much prayer over these vaccines, and it is my firm belief that God has led me not to take them.

2. It is my firm religious belief that my body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, and that it has been bought with the ultimate price, His sacrifice. And if I inject anything into His temple that I truly believe He is leading not to do, then I am defiling His temple.

3. I believe that every child of God will have to stand at the judgement seat of Christ to give an account of the things done in the body. And that if I defile His temple by injecting something that he has clearly led me not to take after months of praying about it, then that is sin in God's sight and I'll be held accountable for it.

I left out the whole abortion angle. But everything I stated in my religious request is 100% my true religious beliefs, so my conscious is clear on it. I didn't use the abortion angle because while I am adamantly opposed to abortions, apparently they use the same fetal cell line test that was used in the mRNA testing on everything from Tums to Ibuprofen. So I couldn't say with a clear conscious that I'd never take any drug that used fetal cell line testing done on it.

I based my request for religious exemption on my belief that the pandemic is God's judgement for sin. The vaccine is an attempt to circumvent His judgement and is in that respect sinful. As supporting evidence I listed verses from the Bible in which pestilence was used by God as judgement for sin and the fact that I did not seek medical treatment for the virus when I had it but prayed for the forgiveness of sin instead.

I filed with my company for a religious exemption, waiting to hear back on it.

I will say this, be very careful how you word it. My company gave a list of questions they wanted detailed answers to in an attempt to pick your stance apart and invalidate it.

The main argument is the use of aborted fetuses, which was also used in the development of far more household drugs than most realize. Also most vaccinations.
You have to word it that since you became a Christian that any medication developed from an aborted fetus has been removed from your home. Don't admit to taking the flu vaccine either.

Honestly, it really pissed me off how my company worded it all in a pathetic attempt to question the authenticity of my faith. I have updated my resume and sent it to recruiters.
