What about Cristobal?

I am new to this board and I noticed that very little has been mentioned about Crystobal. He seems to be a qualified candidate. He has done well at Oregon, spent time as an assistant in the SEC and he recruits well. Just curious as to why so little discussion about him.

Because they just bought out a position coach for 17 million.

I think He’s a great coach
Some people will slam him as another CEO model coach but he’s a hell of a lot smarter than O and has made some great OC hires. There are plenty of good Coaches who don’t call plays and rely on good coordinators. Our issue is O is a fricking moron.
He was also OC at Oregon before he was HC but idk if he called plays.

Ehh. I’d rather have a coach that had expertise on one side of the ball. Don’t get me wrong, I think he’s a good coach and much better than Orgeron, but that’s just a preference. Seems easier to at least have a head coach that keep one side of the ball somewhat consistent.

Think about the brains you need to play OL vs DL.
Cristobal knows more about football than he gets credit for. He would be able to understand that Canada isn’t the guy for him.

Wouldn’t hate the hire. Don’t know why he’d leave UO.
Lower fan expectations, easier path to CFB, plenty of Phil Knight money.

Would love the hire but I don’t think he’s he’s leaving all that Nike money. Especially in the new age of NIL

I didn’t say he didn’t know anything about football and acknowledged he’s a good coach. I would just prefer to have someone with a strong background on one side of the ball or the other. Our last two coaches have been lacking in that department and were way to dependent on coordinator hires. Les thought he knew about offense but he didn’t, and Ed is just bad all around.

I get Your point and after Ed it would feel nice to have something different
That being said Cristobalnis on another planet from Ed and Les as far as Pre-LSU career.

Agreed

Crystobal's offense has always sucked and every year Oregon loses games in the weak arse PAC 12 and he never makes it to the College Football Playoffs, which is just as well, because even if he did, he would inevitably lose in the first round anyway.
LSU doesn't need Crystobal when Lane Kiffin is a far better coach than Crystobal or anyone else under consideration. Plus, Lane Kiffin would cost LSU far less money to hire.

How do you know that? Because he has won more Natty's relative to O?
You don't know that. In fact, you don't have the first clue.

Crystobaw has been mentioned a little but not much. I think most people are convinced he's a CEO type coach and that's the last thing LSU needs right now.
