I wouldn't say that, everyone said that about BF4, BF1, BF5 and yet they all thrived a year later.
Lack of content is again a standard industry problem now. It's helping accelerate the Halo Infinite quick death. Limited maps and modes have largely killed the 2 biggest games this fall.
Par the course for game devs anymore though. Release it early and then add stuff down the road is the way now.

you could, but at least it stays on the first page on it's own. it's mainly a warzone thread instead of an individual CoD thread.

I think it's because there's no real grind to incentivize players to stay. Once everything went micro transaction and cool stuff is just behind a paywall it took away the incentive continuing to play.

I don’t notice a shortage of players in WZ .. all MPs can’t hold up to BR but BF2042 just is terrible and according to many , just doesn’t have many players

No one said anything about BR's. Most people in here hate BR's and moved on awhile ago from that overdone mode.
The fact posted was that the new yearly CoD is as dead as ever evidenced by Cold War having a larger player base than the new Vanguard within 2 months of release.
It's like how BF5 is bigger than 2042 most days now.

Just here to remind everyone this game is trash. Almost 10,000 people have signed a petition to get their money back. What a scam for anyone who loved the older Battlefield games. LINK to petition
Battlefield 2042 had over 100,000 player at launch on Steam alone. Now, not even 3 months later, 2042 has less than 50,000 players across ALL platforms. This means Steam, Origin, PS5, PS4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X combined. Why is that you might ask?
Because Battlefield 2042 is an unfinished POS game that is full of bugs. The maps are shite, the class system was removed, and these specialist that have the cheesy one liners that replaced classes are a joke. NO new content updates till this summer at the earliest and we expect 1 new shitty map. Some of the maps like Kaleidoscope don't even look war torn. They didn't even have time to make some of the map look like they are in a war settings. It's sad, and this marks the end of the Battlefield franchise as a whole.

DICE 2016-present = Dog shite
Most of the old Battlefield developers left EA/DICE after 2016, and it shows.

The graphics don’t hold up but man we had it good with that game. You can jump back in and it’s like you never left. Can’t believe I spent $90 on 2042.

Any game is salvageable especially BF where they're known to take a year after release to get the game where it should be.
Really still holding out hope they release Portal as a standalone. Best thing they've done in a decade.
I still boot it up to play 1942 and BC2 just wish it had more maps.
