We just got this restaurant. I’m not going to lie it looks like Applebee’s. It’s jam packed. Is it good for lunch?

Their duck and andouille gumbo is probably the best restaurant gumbo in whatever state you live in. Assuming their product stays consistent as they expand.

It's slightly better than Applebee's, with a better draft list and more TV's. It's definitely not worth waiting for a table, but it's fine for lunch. Their burgers are pretty good.

best mozzarella sticks of all time, surf and turf burger is killer. redfish is a nice, light lunch option.
i havent really loved anything else ive tried over there tbh. it's good for bar food though

I don't think anyone ever claims Walk-ons is some high end dining experience. It's a sport bar with some unique menu items for that type of place that are pretty solid. I wouldn't wait in line for it but I like it.

They make good salads IMO. It’s not 5 star fare, but they never claimed it to be. Lunch or dinner is fine if you aren’t expecting a white table cloth and some epicurean zen experience.

It’s a good spot to watch a game, but as others have said it’s not somewhere to have a date night or something. And it’s not worth a wait, but it’s fine for what it is.

Off the top of my head I can’t think of a place with a shite ton of TVs and open space that has better food
Are their some dive bar sports places with better food? Sure. . But a huge space with tons of TVs? I think it’s at the top of that niche for food quality
But like everything else that starts in Louisiana and expands, locals after a certain time period have to find reasons to tear it down. Just the Louisiana way
Back to the OP, especially someone not from South La, I personally think you will really like the food

Lots of people will bag on Walk On’s but I’m not sure I’ve ever had something that wasn’t good. It’s solid bar food.
