My good friend passed away on Christmas Day. No more pain. His type of cancer was very aggressive. Kidney. Did not respond to any kind of treatment. Heart rate had elevated up to 140 -150 bpm resting and 170 bpm when sitting up in bed. Fluid buildup. Incredible amount of discomfort.

41 years old. Leaves behind two children.

As bad as things can be for all of us at times, and a lot of times self-inflicted without us even knowing, we all have today to make changes to ourselves. Use your time wisely for none of us are promised tomorrow. And spend time with the people who matter the most to you, even if they have caused you hurt. Try forgiving them — not for them, but for you. Because in the end, you will be graced with peace and closure if you do instead of anger and regret.

There are a few thread types I will read on the OT. For some reason threads similar to this pull me in. My grandfather who I love dearly passed away over a decade ago from lung cancer that was likely self induced. That may be a reason why. But these threads pull me in and scare the shite out of me every time. The amount of people who respond with personal anecdotal information probably scares me the most.

I’ll say a prayer for your buddy, his family, and his friends this AM.

I’m so terribly sorry about your friend and his family. May you all find peace and comfort in knowing he is no longer suffering.

This hits really close to home for me because I know my kidney cancer can return at anytime. My appreciation for life and for those that are important to me has really taken on a new perspective since March.

Wow. Some cancers can be very aggressive. Knew a guy who was active one summer, to experiencing a "little lower back pain" to dead of colon cancer by the next spring. In his 50s.

Sorry to hear that he died. It sounds like you have a good outlook on it though. He's no longer suffering. I'll pray for him and his family.
