Napier’s not my first choice, but I’d take him in a heartbeat before Franklin.

I'd take Napier over dabo and franklin in a heartbeat and this board should know how I feel about Napier so it's saying something

Franklin's history with mediocrity at QB should be enough to have him of the list of potential candidates. Put out some stars at rb though. Reminds me of someone else who used to coach here.

I've never seen a Penn state game where the offense was downright impressive.

It’s kind of funny that they played in 9 OTs and still only scored 18
(I know the rules are different with 2pt tries now but still lol)

Same here.

There are few big names I’d prefer. And if they fall off then Napier above a Franklin or Dabo for me as well. But go after 3-5 big dogs before you get to this.

Hes easily better than those two flakes.

For me its

Riley 1A
Kiffin 1B
Napier 2

Aranda 3

Agreed! Napier is easily a great choice if someone like Riley is not possible.

Agreed. Napier, in my opinion, is more like a 1C for two main reasons:
- Knows Louisiana recruiting very well already. (Not saying one of us)
- Much more stable. Very likely a longterm solid solution. Truly get a Saban vibe from him. Have noticed this since he first arrived at ULL.

I’d take O over Tucker and I can’t stand Orgeron.

Well for one Franklin is in a tier above Napier. Secondly, would be a home run hire.

Proven winner in the SEC and at a major institution. Top notch recruiter. Clifford isn’t great but there was a 4-year period where Penn State, on average was Top 15-20 in scoring including one year they averaged 41.7 a game.

Always fields a strong defense. Only tier above him is Saban, Smart, Dabo and maybe Riley and Ryan Day.

Yeah, winning 9 games at Vandy and competing in New Years 6 bowls can’t compare to what Napier has done at ULL right? Thank freaking god none of you have anything to do with this search. Napier won’t even be thought of.

That’s my whole issue with the Franklin idea. If we wanted nine wins a year on the back of a stout defense, great running back, and piss poor QB play we would have just kept Miles. Obviously, we know the Miles crap ran deeper than that, but he was fired for mediocrity first.

I think the list needs to be Riley, Fickell, Napier. In that order.

By all accounts, it doesn't sound like Fickell has any interest in LSU. If that is the case, throw the bank at Riley. If he declines, throw $5M at Napier and let's ride.
