I see nothing from this dude. Not even a spark of potential. Didn’t think much of the pick at the time and he’s done zero to change my mind. What is he supposed to be good at exactly? I have no idea

I’m seriously not sure he’s going to make it to a second contract. There are plenty of dudes in the g league that are better than this bum. I guess knowing this FO they’ll re sign anybody

We need to get a FO that can draft serviceable players. We’re on year 3 of “Hayes is going to put it together real soon I promise”. Fingers crossed on Murphy but jury is still out. NAW is far and away the biggest success story and he’s basically a rotation guy.

Griffin has got to to. He’s the O of the NBA

There are better players in the g league than him. We spent a 1st on a player that might have went undrafted

speed my friend. God given speed that can't be taught. The kind of speed that allows you to crossover, and blow right by your defender , drive to the hoop and miss the layup. That kind of speed!

He bullied Kira. He didn't even want the ball anymore

He was one of the top pick and roll players in college. That skill should be pretty useful to this team but it obviously hasn't translated to the NBA.

What I think is frustrating with Kira is the seemingly low IQ so far.

One of the things that had me somewhat positive about him is that if you go look for it, there are some videos of him speaking where he is basically being quizzed on the fly about random plays and he 100% accurately breaks them down and talks about why something worked, why it didn’t, what needs to happen instead etc.

He demonstrated, at least in the lab, a high IQ and wisdom of th game beyond his years, but on the court…that hasn’t been the case. He’s looked lost, tons of poor decision making, timid, intimidated, unable to do things he was once supposedly good at(PnR, catch and shoot).

But yeah, in hindsight, Tyrese Maxey would be pretty nice to have instead of Kira

That’s what’s most disappointing. After the turnover, we had to have Temple bring the ball up because Kira was scared. You’re not going to last long in this league with that type of mentality. Hopefully some of the coaches/players talk to him about it and he learns from this.

Pathetic. He's 20 years old. Jesus Christ.

He doesn't get the luxury of development? I mean, he's thrown into the Patrick Beverly buzzsaw and we blame him for being intimidated by that level of defense?

He's young and he's raw. I remember hearing a lot of "He's a bust" or "wasted pick" stuff directed towards Jaxson Hayes once upon a time.

20 years old. Be patient FFS

I said it last year. Send him to the G League to get playing time on the court.

On top of that, I might promote the older, Jose' Alvarado on the depth chart. He can't be worse and we need someone with 'point' capabilities to play lead guard on the second unit.

As much as I fricking hated Demps, the more time passes, the more I actually think he's better than Griffin. Griffin is the biggest fraud ever. I knew the second we hired him it would be a mistake.

I mean we are year three of Hayes and are still waiting for him to become a consistent positive rotational player off the bench.

In those three years he’s had about a one month stretch where you can say he belongs, beyond that, including to start of the season, it hasn’t been the case.

The theme with this regime up until Murphy(and NAW) has been to take the highest perceived ceiling guys, which happen to be the rawer guys, and hope you have the developmental coaches to get them to reach it.

We’re still waiting on that first victory from that philosophy. So far Hayes, Didi, and Kira are yet to cement themselves as consistently positive guys in the rotation, let alone starters.

Yeah, Hayes played great defense and sparked a run in the first half that got us back into the game. He played well.

Kira is still very young, playing the hardest position on the floor to learn, all while getting limited minutes his rookie year.

It's far to early to say it's a bust pick. It may turn out he's the worst pick Griff and Trajan made, and after drafting Zion, Hayes, NAW, Trey and Herb, I'd say one miss is pretty damn good for a league where half the draftees don't see a second contract.

do young players not improve in the off season every year now?

Back in the day Bird, Magic, Barkley, Kobe, Lebron - they would come back after the offseason with a new weapon to their game or a noticeably improved area of their game.

This new crew - Zion, Hayes, Kira - they don’t improve at all in the off-season as the only time there games seem to get worked on is during the season when the coaches are spoon feeding them.

This generation is a bunch of pussies.
