Derrick Henry is another example that proves that Saban overworks his RBs at Bama

After his recording breaking 2015 campaign for Bama where he rushed for 2220 yards on 395 carries, it took Henry two full seasons to recover as a Titan’s running back and has been able to be productive only from his 3rd year in the NFL.
Bama is where RBs go to kill their professional careers typically (TJ Yeldon, Eddie Lacy, Trent Richardson come to mind), but Henry was smart enough to take a couple of years off to rest and recuperate his body, so that he could be a productive running back again, so good for him.

True. If running backs want to be successful in the pros they should leave Alabama and not get used at all at Tennessee before becoming a superstar in the NFL.

Hikingfan,
He averaged 150 carries his first 2 years for the Titans. That’s not what I call rest & recuperation.

Are you kidding me? These are young guys in great shape, they could play a game five days a week. I played football in 24 hours I was ready to go,
At that age, you can play five days a week.

Five days at week in your 20's.

Is that Sabans concern? Or Bama fans?

Darn the Titans for having DeMarco Murray and his 1300 yard season

LF7 had more carries and receptions in college. When you have guys like that…why not use them? You play ….to win the game

Or he just needed a competent QB, so defense couldn’t just focus on the run 100 percent of the time. He started being consistently good once Tanehill arrived

Who cares Won titles

Saban underused Henry at Alabama
Posted on 10/23/21 at 7:56 am to hikingfan
Well, I don’t think they gotta worry about that anymore

Derrick Henry is the worst example you could use he is an absolute animal on the field.

This is a dumb take. He was completely underutilized when he made it to Tennessee. The morons were having him split time with fricking Dion Lewis. It wasn’t a matter of him being worn down. It was the staff refusing to give him a workload.
