We have reached a point of technology where we could easily have verified elections on blockchain. After you vote, you could literally check to see if your vote was processed properly. Furthermore, this opens the door for a direct democracy (instead of a republic), in which people can vote on issues directly, rendering congress virtually obsolete. Also, people could just vote from home, or if you don't have internet access (somehow) you could go to a station. We could also have unified digital identity protocols, but that's for another day. Let me know what you think.

EDIT: All of you complaining about direct democracy missed the point. Throw direct democracy out the window. We can have verified elections.

Direct democracy is just mob rule. We'd be owned by urban centers, specifically just a handful of urban centers.

The big problem is transactions - in this case votes - are completely transparent.

The alternative is having Joe Biden as president.

You choose.

But we want a republic of states. I don't understand how or why this so often gets dismessed.

I am all for blockchain voting, but frick direct democracy straight in the fricking arse.

I want actual Federalism, small Federal government and competition between states.

Would be wonderful. Too late though. Progressives are never going to allow it.

They want centralized control.

That’s how the majority take your guns and proof of why we’re a constitutional republic.

However, it’s what’s needed for elections.

I am considering a project for this based on the absurd amount of mistrust for current systems. Seems like an opportunity. I'm considering something based on the zk snarks functionality on Ethereum Blockchain for privacy

Direct democracy = what New York, Chicago, LA, Detroit, and Houston says is law.

No thank you.

I talked about this 2 years ago.

They will never, ever allow it to happen. They are scrambling to squash crypto because that has gotten way too far for their comfort level.

But, the technology is there, we can def have legit elections that are by design and foundation truly de- centralized.

It'll never happen.

It's a great idea if it can be implemented
