Every so often I get a nugget. This is what I have been told.
1) When Scott talked to Saban it was about Tucker and Napier. Saban recommended Tucker.
2) As Scott continued to search and vet more candidates, Tucker’s name kept coming up in coaching circles as a highly respected candidate.
3) Scott is enamored with Tucker’s back ground. He’s been a part of two N.C. Teams. He has coached under two N.C. Coaches (Saban and Tressel) and Kirby could be a 3rd this year.
4) Scott is big into recruiting. Tucker has copied the Bama and UGA recruiting model.
5) Tucker knows the sec landscape, he knows LSU, he has the defensive background ,nfl and college pedigree much like Saban did at this stage in his career.
6) Scott is a forward thinking guy. He believes Tucker is a future star. He believes Tucker will change the sec as the only African America head coach. When he wins championships, the others will have to follow. Tate has endorsed this belief and has put his stamp of approval on the hire
7)Tucker's buyout is 6 million before Jan 15th and drops to 2.5 million after Jan 15th. Therefore, money isn’t an issue.
Barring a playoff run, look for the announcement to occur on November 29.

I honestly think Tucker is a good choice. There are plenty of good choices out there but he should be at the top 3 on the radar

If we listen to Saban we would have had Houston Nutt
Do you really think Saban will give advice to a sec west team he has to go through

What about barring a late season collapse and few L's?

When Tucker goes 2-4, 1-4, or 0-4 the next few weeks it will be interesting to see if you're right and Scott would hire him lol

He's not my top choice (and I don't believe OP) but he's a solid coach who will likely not be at MSU for long.

Tucker has become the Ultimate Smoke Screen

I get it that Saban and Woody are friends. But why the frick would Saban want LSU to be relevant again?

You might get ban for saying that about Tucker based on this board he is not qualified to lead the Fighting Tigers.
I'll keep you in my prayers.

Letting Saban give input on who to hire and then doing it. Yikes.
That is some Coach O BS. Hey Brady and Aranda who do you recommend? I thought that was bad while they had their own programs to run, but now we are asking a direct rival. A dude who competes against us on and off the field?
Good grief.

Originally I was thinking Tucker might not be a bad choice and he still might be a good choice. However, with all this BS about Tate I’m now on the fence.
If he’s hired many will wonder if it’s only because he’s black

Saban also recommended Houston Nutt once upon a time.
Regardless, OP is a moron for believing any of this and posting it on here.

I hate they have a bye this week. Really looking forward to the rest of their season against actual winning teams .

So that tells us Napier is the better coach in Saban’s opinion and someone he would hate to face. Thanks for the shite nuggets
