Best Pistol for Concealed Carry under $500

What are some of the best options for concealed carry under $500? I recently bought a Glock 19X, but want something a little smaller to carry. Looking at Springfield XDS, Ruger Security 9 compact, Ruger LC9s, Glock 43, Taurus G3C. I bought an M&P Shield 9 for my brother for Christmas, so I don't want to get the same exact thing. Doesn't have to be the the ones on the list, thanks in advance.

I recently (6-months) bought a Springfield Hellcat after having my mind set on a Walther CCP. I was able to find most of the selections in that size range at a gun show and got a feel for each of them. Ultimately, it came down to how the grip fit my hand. I was surprised enough at the fit that the Hellcat changed my mind. Very satisfied with the purchase so far.

I love my 43X for CC, but it isn't under $500.

You can find the p365 for $550 or less on shelves everywhere.
IMO it is still the king of carry micro 9s.

I like my xds, never had the chance to use the hellcat yet. I also carry a Ruger Lcp version 1.2, has the red trigger and better sights. Just depends on where I'm going and what I'm wearing. I tried a double stack and that was a big no. I could not conceal that unless it was in a bag lol.

2. If you've already found a reliable handgun that you shoot well, it's far more logical to get another just like it rather than consciously looking for something different. Muscle memory (neural pathways) is a real thing - having consistentcy among your SD pistols is crucial during times of stress (e.g. when someone is trying to lop off your head with a machete).
3. Not trying to be a jerk, but placing a price cap on a self defense pistol is not a logical plan --- unless your life (or that of SO, kids, etc.) is only worth $500. (Would typically insert Ole Miss joke here, but y'all are having too great of a year in football

4. Get the most reliable pistol money can buy (which will be a Glock or M&P for maybe $500-$600) and practice. If money is an issue, buy a used Glock off GunBroker. Glocks have a lifetime warranty, and the factory in Smyrna, GA will inspect any used pistol, replace all worn parts, replace all parts that have been re-designed or upgraded since the pistol was manufactured, test fire it, and return it to you at your home address --- all at zero cost (you'll pay shipping to Smyrna).

This also and if it's a new one make sure you shoot well.
I won a Ruger SRC9 ? I think that's the model it was. Went to the range and could not get a good feel for it. Shots were all over even while taking my time and trying to be precise. Shot my little .380 alot better, 1 handed with non dominant hand. Never shot a gun I was so bad with so I sold it right after that. Was a nice gun too but does me no good if I can't shoot it strait.

Love my Canik SC elite but as a double stack it’s a tad heavier than I’d like but I still carry it. Was like $350.
When I’m going strictly for comfort or wearing lighter clothes I carry a $329 Taurus snub nose revolver with .38spl hollow points.

I just bought one for my wife last week. She loves that gun! It eats ammo and racks very smooth. I think it was $550.
