O had great classes but he didn’t address or didn’t evaluate the offensive line deficit very well. You can load classes with skill guys and be ranked highly; but if you don’t fix gaps in the roster; you aren’t recruiting properly.

If you look at Saban’s classes; he almost always has at least 4-5 oline recruits. Granted it’s a machine there now; but he knows you win in the trenches.

I do think just based on our recruiting grounds; a competent coach will land great classes.

Now do the recruiting class rankings of the teams that beat us the last two years.

Better yet, check the recruiting classes of all the teams that have beaten Saban’s Alabama in the last decade! It wasn’t just coaching at Alabama!

Who is going to make sure they are recruiting for the roster and not just for rankings? Who is going to make sure the recruits will be coached up and put in the right positions? Can geaux on but it's too obvious...

And, the key question:

What did that masterful chef do with all that horsepower?

That’s rhetorical…..

Would be really impressive if at least a third of them are no longer playing. We basically are enduring a self imposed probation with the lack of scholarship players.

And he’s taken that talent and gone 9-8 over the last 17 games.

Who will match that, not Dave Aranda! Maybe others.

Nothing. You have the dumbest, most ridiculous takes on this board. Will be better when you quit posting.

I'd take 15, 14 and 13 if the product on the field performed better.

And what has that earned us? .500?

frick all that. As stated, a good c9ach who isn't a complete jackass will get the players to LSU...and coach them once they get here

Lol, no. The only time the classes weren’t that great were when we didn’t have spots to fill the full allotment. Also the portal wasn’t a thing so you had less chance of guys leaving but also less transfers not from juco, so the landscape is a bit different.

Problem is we started finishing 2nd for a couple of players that could have made the diff on the lines. Like the kid at bama and the kid at FSU. I forget their names.

I agree with most of this , but LSU leads the nation with most top 10 wins since 2017. I do believe O was the coach for all those years .
This was a ? On cbs a few wks back , even the college gurus got it wrong , of coarse they all was sure it was bama , not even close . The answer was LSU 13 , bama / Georgia 9

Wasn't the 2018 class like 15th?

And his classes have been pretty dog shite when you look at how many of the players in them don't contribute or just aren't here anymore.

And don't get started on the O line...

Is Woodward getting LSU a coach who will match O’s recruiting classes? That’s just as important as the X’s and O’s.

Orgeron is an incredible recruiter. Kids love him and he gets people on campus. However I do not know how good of an evaluator of talent and potential he is, particularly on the offensive line and linebackers.

I’m not saying I’m any better, I know I’m significantly worse, but that’s not my job.

Alabama has lost a total of 4 games since 2018. 4.

LSU has doubled that the last 2 years. And we have had top 5 talent based on star ratings still on the team these past two years.

This is coaching/evaluation/player development.

If it’s Aranda we know our LB’s will rock Tiger Stadium. If it’s Kiffin we know his offense will light up Tiger Stadium.
