If they missed the target by 24 miles, then their hypersonic missiles are no threat to our ships like the media would like you to believe. It's not a carrier killer because they can't see through the plasma and it's going too fast to adjust at the end of the run to hit the target. So this is actually good news. We already knew they had this. Now we know they can't hit anything with it.

I dont know why they would hit the Whitehouse or NORAD when we have nuclear subs in the ocean....

Using a nuke is more to demoralize your enemy than anything.

Half the deaths in Japan from the Nukes were months later from the lingering aftermath....

Nukes are blunt instruments. They serve a purpose but there's a lot more non-attributable ways to destroy your enemy. Hitting power grids, water supplies, logistics, etc. over cyberspace is cheaper, easier, and very effective. Additionally, just buying your enemies politicians off and waiting a generation is a good way to achieve victory. Nukes are just a flashy propaganda item for the masses.

I agree and which is why a Nuke lading within 30 miles of a target all the way from China just hitting anywhere in the US is "good enough".....

Nukes are not very useful weapons these days. Its much more effective to shut down the enemies power grid via hacking or just release a virus that has a 99.96% survival rate. Nuke propaganda is used so the government can flood more spending into various black box budgets to never be seen again.

I tend to agree. No world power is dumb enough to start nuclear warfare.

So maybe this is true, or maybe it is Chinese propaganda aimed more at their citizens than the US.

Dude, if they aimed a NUKE at New York dead center and missed by 30 miles, New York is still toast and millions are dead. Period lol....

Take DFW for example. The Metroplex spans over a hundred miles. It would be absolutely devastating and demoralizing for millions of people.

No doubt. You are 100% correct. I'm just saying that Exxon would still be functional. They would have failed at destroying that oil supply.

People are a soft target.

Hitting a hard target (infrastructure, hardened bunkers, etc) requires precise aim.

If your object is to kill people, that can be done.

If your object is a decapitation strike to where you take out the opposition’s leadership and missiles, this doesn’t work for that because it is too inaccurate.

We have multiple types of response including ICBMs, nuclear subs, carriers, etc, and an inability to take those out immediately as opposed to giving them radiation sickness is the difference between preventing a response and getting nuked in return. They

If you are using nukes, the idea is to take out someone’s ability to respond in kind once they find out what you did.

Being able to shoot from space and hit in a short period of time is a good first strike capability.

Not being able to hit what you are aiming at, missing by up to 20 miles, limits the upside of such a strike.

The most frustrating thing to me about Biden “being elected” is that Trump and his administration were the only people in Washington who actually want to stand up to China and do something. All these other cucks are too much of pussies to do anything. We’re so screwed and it’s because of China, but as long as Mr Mean Tweets isn’t in office, then America wins, according to millions of dumbasses in this country.

eh, they'd be fairly close enough that the effects would have an impact there

This is with a 5Mt Dong Feng ICBM

orange = third degree radiation burns common
gray outside orange = light damage (broken glass and minor injuries)

What if they launched 20 of them at us? We are toast and so are they.

THAT IS THE POINT of them having the ability....

China doesnt need to have precision like we do. They just have to send enough.

Like a ground war, our troops will kill more per person, the problem is they just have so many people.

They know this, we know this.

And how many would we be able to send in response?

Enough to make China uninhabitable for a few thousand years.

If they are throwing shite at a wall and hoping they took out or ability to respond, it means we have enough to strike back. Which means no one wins.
