That's odd that Anchorage's daylight is so much shorter than hours.
I've always wondered why that's the case too. Probably because its west.
Losing 5-6 minutes of daylight a day now.
Looked at our forecast, should be getting some snow this Saturday.

Auke Lake?
Yep. Usually the last to freeze up around here. I work in Auke Bay.

I always like that dark gray look the water gets under a cold snowy sky

Is this your picture? If so, what's your setup? This is incredible

I've seen enough snow in my life to know it is miserable shite to deal with and I dont want to live anywhere where it snows a bunch
The key is to live close enough to it but not in it.
Me, I'd take snow over the 8 months of humidity you deal with.

Sadly, we've had two sunny days all fall.
Amazing fall weather on the WA coast.

Can ask the same about Louisiana, to be fair.
But you don't have to mow your grass to get your car out of your garage.

Looked like it was going to dump about noon here but alas, lee side of the divide sinking air holds it off till the colder air arrives.
Still expect a solid inch of snow here. Just an appetizer of winter for me though, with temps returning to the 50/20 range next week.

We got just a tiny bit in CO...at least down here at 6,000 ft. Up in the high country it's been snowing for a week or so. I look forward to the cooler weather but damn my skin hates the dryness.

Was just starting to get daylight. Not to bad.
A few more I took while I was out.
