With a loss to the Saints today, he is about to be 54-72 as a head coach when Tom Brady does not play for him at QB.

- His average full regular season record without Brady (this includes the 2008 11-win Matt Cassell season) is 7-9.

- His record with Brady is 244-66.

- His full regular season average with Brady is 12-4.

Without Brady, Belichick is worse than Norv Turner (.483) or Dave Wannstedt (.485) and only slightly ahead of Dick Jauron (.423) and Herm Edwards (.422) as an NFL head coach.

Let that sink in...

He honestly looks like shite as a head coach this year, but not many people win games with rookie QBs either

Bill is a great coach but he’s a fricking garbage gm. Tom was able to hide the lack of weapons, but now that he’s gone Bill thinks he can win with a bunch of nobodies.

I am not impressed at all. Their roster though is garbage and winning with a rookie QB is tough

Everyone also forgets how easy the Pats 2008 schedule was and how loaded that team still was. It was essentially the entire 16-0 back for another year, minus only Brady. And they still didn't even make the playoffs.

The Patriots were 13-6 in games without Tom Brady from 2002-2019. It’s not like Belichick wasn’t winning without him in the few games that Brady did miss.

I still think he’s a great coach but I’m glad that Tom has taken a big dump on his legacy. He deserves it for being an arse.

11 of those games were with Matt Cassel (who went to the Pro Bowl and the playoffs with the Chiefs a year or two later) and the same roster that had gone 16-0 the year before. And they were playing through the NFL's easiest schedule to boot.

^^^^^^
THIS

His so incurably arrogant, that I don't care if the questions now are unfair. frick him.

That said, OP stats are not really a reasonable comparison.

"Stats without Brady" includes the Browns run which, well, the Browns. But, more importantly, a much more reasonable comparison would be of his run with the Patriouts "stats without Brady" vs all of those other coaches "stats when their starting QB went down".

At least that would be a more direct comparison.

Regardless. frick Bill Belichick. LOL

We shall see. I still think they are both greats and amongst the best that have ever done what they do.

As far as life after Brady, it's easier to join a team that's loaded than rebuild, so let's give Bill a couple of years.
