CBS won't make that mistake again. I hate day games, but when you have a rivalry like that in which the games are so close, to hell with Fla-Tenn.

I was thinking that tonight. How the hell does cbs pick flordia and tenn over LSU and Auburn esp. after the Fla. blowout last year.

CBS didn't have a choice.

Pretty sure the contract has ESPN having the right to pick a single game in the preseason that they have the first dibs on.

I was so happy when CBS passed on this game. I was so sick of Vern Lundquist last year I thought I was going to kill myself.

I think the contract stays the same in that respect.

I think ESPN gets something like 2 of the top 5 games or something, and this was one they picked.

However, starting in '09 I think the new CBS deal completely trumps ESPN every weekend. So, CBS will get to pick 1 game to show, then ESPN (aka SEC ntwk) has the rights to show ALL other SEC games across any of their networks including ABC.

An incredible deal for the SEC, imo.

Todd Blackledge was still a dipshit tonight. Talked about Auburn taking a timeout for like 5 minutes when it was LSU, said that the incomplete pass on the 2 point conversion was intended for Richard Murphy, among other things.

ESPN's production is far superior to CBS.

CBS shows more than half the game through a facemask.

I was a little disappointed we did not see some key slow motion replays tonight on ESPN, but at least you were somewhat able to pick up on personnel and coverages.

CBS is second rate when it comes to camera angles, announcers, and overall presentation.

Sweet.....that should lead to more nation wide network TV coverage for LSU.

Why the hell can we not have our own terms with CBS? Would really suck for them to force us to have this game during the day at TS next year.

That was Mike Patrick saying it was Richard Murphy. I think Blackedge and Gary Danielson are both way above average, especially Gary.

Only thing I want is Ron Franklin back doing the play-by-play for LSU-Auburn.

Man I used to love it on a Saturday night with Ron Franklin and Mike Gottfried. (I think Gottfried had a stroke or something recently though)

blacklegde did point out penalties that were not called...

when chad jones was held and todd intentinoally grounded it...

when there was a facemask on scott on a sideline run

calling out the flimsy call for a roughing the passer

and the fumble caused by rj jackson

wasn't the Florida game last year on in primetime on CBS? Why wouldn't the AU/LSU game be on in primetime as well if CBS chooses it? You know nobody with DirectTV or cable was watching that crappy Georgia game.

I Hate CBS and every LIEING HYENIA at that suck arse network. Their big CA$H payout to the powers that be, too get the game moved from a night game too a day game is criminal. I'm talking about the
GEORGIA game where these disgusting big CASH payouts have taken place.
All these NETWORK Scum bags don't care what's best for LSU, they
just want the advertising buck. The ones at CBS are the worst bunch of low life bottom feeding parasites.

What was special about the LSU/Fla. game that had CBS make it a night game?

I know it was a big game, but why can't they do a prime time SEC game more often?
