I've always thought this would be the natural end of this
I think we will eventually have an annual combo flu/COVID shot

To be clear, I have no issue with that result IF it is handled how the current flu vaccine is handled; however, the precedence we are seeing now sure seems to lead to believe that won’t be the case.
Even though my understanding is previously having the flu doesn’t provide much of any protection from getting the flu again. That doesn’t appear to be the case with Covid.

My daughter-in-law, still nursing, is mandated by her employer to get vaccinated before she returns to work from maternity leave. Despite her choice to not be vaccinated based on her age, health, fitness, and absence of co-morbidities, and her reservations about the vaccines effectiveness and underreported adverse outcomes, she has, in effect, a loaded gun pointed to her head compelling her against her will.
Is that allowing her to “live her life”?
A friend’s daughter who worked hard through middle school and high school maintaining straight A grades, concentrating in science and math, playing softball, basketball, cheerleading, student government-all with an eye set early on to become a nurse, is being compelled by Southeastern to be vaccinated or drop out the program she’s enrolled in and has worked hard to reach. An OP here the other day or so confessed his employer was mandating vaccination or quit and the OP had little choice with family to support and bills to pay.
Physicians aren’t allowed to treat their patients with alternative protocols which would keep them out of hospitals and off of the virtual death sentence of ventilators.
The so called pandemic is being used as a loaded gun to manipulate and control people to do things they wouldn’t do otherwise.
You are not letting us live our lives freely. It’s just as much you as it is the damned socialists, autocrats, and bureaucrats.

So, you're concerned enough about everyone's health to actually support people being fired over their objection to the vaccine, but you're still okay with someone just taking a different job to dodge the Vax? There's far more pressure being put on people that don't want to take the vaccine for valid reasons and just want to be left alone and allowed to make their own choice.
I'm in good health and in an age group that is largely unaffected by the severe cases and/or death. Yet I am still faced with either requesting a religious exemption that is likely to be declined; taking the vaccine; or losing my job. I don't have a problem with the vaccine, but I also don't see much benefit for myself at this point.
