What a profound statement. How much film did you have to break down to come to an obvious conclusion?

How good is Central Michigan?

Good enough to give an SEC team all they could handle a couple of weeks ago. However CM hasn't seen shock and awe on defense like they will face Saturday. This is O's best defense since becoming head coach.

Spoiler alert, we are not going to win 9, 10, or 11 games.

Also, McNeese is a terrible team, and you are a fool.

We were very "vanilla" in the first 2 games and still could not execute as an offense. What does that say about what will happen when we install more complex concepts?

We will probably HAVE to run some screens this year. The book is out on Johnson. If you put pressure on him he is lost. Several times during both UCLA and McNeese games they showed heavy pressure, didn't so much as bother to disguise it and Max still could not see it. When he did, he couldn't execute. I expect a very heavy dose of blitz packages moving forward because we can't run the ball, and Max cannot execute under pressure.

The only way to remedy these two things would be to execute screen passes to slow down blitzes, or Max has to get better under pressure. While the O-line hasn't played well, there were times in both games that the D simply brought more than we could block, and Max did not see it.

If you are going to need these plays vs better competition, why not actually work on them in real game situation vs McNeese?

This is the same secret playbook crap we used to hear about when Miles was here.

Exactly. Brady improvised on the go.
The CEH touchdown before half at Bama was installed the week before the game.
Brady saw the Saints run it the previous weekend and installed it the week leading up to Bama.

The base playbook should already be mastered, and game weeks should be for adding wrinkles specific to that opponent.
Not still trying to figure out if you can run your base plays or not.

Asking this again.

Based on the premise of the thread, does Ed Orgeron have the qualifications to be involved in offensive game planning.

I’m aware that he’s the head coach, but your premise is that one must have some direct experience in that part of the game to have knowledge about it. Isn’t that what you’re implying with this thread?

Bum Phillips on his way out as the head coach of the Saints at his last press conference told marble mouthed New Orleans sports figure Buddy Dilaberto "you don't anything about football. You think you do but you don't". It was a beautiful thing to see and hear. Dilaberto was also the one who said "Bert Jones will never be an NFL QB".

In reality as a former college football player 90% of fans know very little about football. They think they do but they don't. I re watched the McNeese game and maybe 10% here on this board understand what that saw the other 90% think they know what they saw.

Not only is LSU much better than 90% THINK they are but McNeese is also much better than 90% of the people here THINK they are. Lastly 90% don't understand why we lost to UCLA. As a walk on I used to volunteer to help in the film room to assist the coaches to breakdown plays. Gave me a tremendous insight into understanding REALLY why plays work and don't work. Why you can and cannot run certain plays based on the personnel you have versus who you are playing. What the "fans" see versus what coaches see is light years apart.

What I saw Saturday night 90% here didn't see.

yea well in the end all that matters is results. and you can frick off with your hollier than thou attitude.

Really? My whole post related to the injuries on our O Line and how it masked against McNeese how good we are.

Later when actually asked to predict my post was besides QB the O line was the issue to us winning.

Yep. Fits the bill.

There have been a lot of Pro-Coach O posters lately that all have a member date around November 2016. All with lower post counts too.

You might be right. But one thing is certain if I did get hit too much I know to a certainty it could have never been by you twig boy.

As I told one other "fan" here the skinny part of the jock goes in the back not the front.
