Max is a lefty. Does that matter?

I've read varying opinions over the years. Some say it makes line protection harder and others say drawing up plays can get funky. Many other reasons have also been cited for the lack of lefty success.
Obviously not an excuse for line play or Max.
Just curious what the Rant's take on it is.

Alabama managed when Hurts and Tua were both playing at the same time

What matters is he’s not experienced enough to make checks and adjust protections and he’s not gifted enough throwing the ball to overcome that. You can’t have a game manager who doesn’t have a full grasp of the position in an offense like ours. Now that there’s enough film out on him DCs are taking away away the things that were easy for him in his 2 starts last season and he hasn’t been able to take the next step.

im not a fan of LH QB's but I don't know if it really impacts the wr's or blocking protections

Being a lefty has nothing to do with it.

It does not matter as long as you have competent coaches that can scheme around a left handed QB.

Nah. He's gotta shorten his delivery. That's the issue.
Max has what it takes to be successful, but needs time to develop

Does O have enough time left to let him develop?

Shouldn't unless you switch quarterbacks from RH to LH or LH to RH.
Ball has the opposite spin from what the WRs are accustomed to seeing. But that wouldn't account for any of MJ's issues. The receivers had an ample number of reps this summer and fall.

Just like it matters which hammers, screw drivers, and forks he uses.

No. He’s a bad quarterback. I mean bad. Really bad. Which is what my last account got banned for saying last year, when everyone was fangirling him because “he has that it factor.”

Biased!! This take is invalid!

I don’t think he’s a bad QB but he’s not good enough to lead a successful SEC team running a QB centric offense right now. He’s a backup QB, Brennan got hurt the last 2 seasons and that’s the only reason he’s in there. Nuss needs to be given a shot, he’s much more talented and there’s no reason to treat a backup like some established starter.

It apparently doesn't stop people from making more stupid threads.

Antonio Brown said once that it's hard to make the switch.

No he isn't. He is playing behind a crap OL and getting the crap knocked out of him. Bama always has good or great OLs and has been successful with average QBs. He is young and on his 4th start as a QB. The Coaches are not doing him any favor with the "Check with Me" plays. Marcus Randall spoke about it last night on a show. Max would be better served to go with tempo.

Irrelevant.
He will be here if O is fired, new coach comes along. He needs time to learn from Brennan this year.
