we gotta stop staying this, Football Ops handles football. Academic Center for athletes handles Academics.

So blame LSU because Emery couldn't pass 12 hours in the Interdisciplinary Studies curriculum ? Yeah that's the attitude Sport, sue someone else because I don't want to accept responsibility when I screw up.
Depends on what rumor is true. If it's true that he was placed in the wrong class and is now ineligible, sure. LSU pays people to make sure this doesn't happen. Obviously, you're reacting to a different rumor.

I just listened to Brody Miller on Hold That Podcast. He is suing the NCAA for eligibility. He’s hired the same lawyer Kristian Fulton hired for his elibilitu case back in 2018. The “wrong class” rumor is false. This was on Emery & his lack of credit hours

Outrageous and that insanity happens at big $ private schools too. Seen advisors tell students the wrong information over and over and over.

Fulton did not sue the NCAA

So I ask, where was the "parental guidance" during his educational years? Did excel in his studies prior to committing to LSU?

Good luck with that.

Maybe they will use Taylor Porter.

Let's get the entire story first hoss. Are we sure Emery was making the grades?
We'll find out soon enough

Whole lot of people in here probably have pulled hammies from jumping to conclusions...

I agree with this 100%. 4 pages of people wanting to blame everyone but Emery. Jacob Hester already said that he didn't get bad advice, he just failed. This looks like its 100% on Emery.
If he's not playing because of grades, it's because he didn't pass enough classes or make high enough grades. Even if he took the wrong class, that has nothing to do with his GPA. His GPA is the same whether or not he took the wrong class. It's kind of obvious most ppl here didn't go to college from reading some of these posts.

His family should sue him for being dumb.

Nobody said Fulton sued the ncaa Ed

So the OP took this headline: Mike Scarborough of Tiger Bait is reporting that John Emery's family is "pursuing all legal options" in order to get him eligible this season. and turned it into The Emery Family suing the university and now everyone has jumped on the bandwagon.
This
Hey op , do you understand that everything that’s on this board is read by other fanbases on the sec rant and by lurkers from everywhere.
Don’t start click bait titled threads that make lsu look bad. Even if it isn’t a bad look to you. These other schools twist words and negatively recruit against us by spreading stupid rumors
Posted on 9/13/21 at 6:56 pm to moontigr
WTF, just speculation. No link or sauces named.

This is good stuff. Seems to me that LSU was confident they could get Emery a waiver anyway. And then the NCAA said GTFO with that weak arse shite. Just a day or two before the UCLA game. This is still mostly Emery's fault. He takes care of his business, none of this happens. But ain't nobody surprised that O can't give us a straight answer. Tell the Truth Monday, my arse.
This should take over this thread and replace OP’s text body.

Dumb people want free stuff. He's no different. Product of his environment.
Wtf is your deal dude? How do you know he’s dumb or his environment is dumb? A ton of smart people have made stupid decisions academically.
And isn’t he from Georgia? How the hell do you know the iq of the people that he grew up around?
I’ll be straight up , I really don’t think you should be making blanket statements like that about his environment.
Enough of that shite dude. You know nothing about his friends and family or what income they draw.
What free stuff anyway, he put in a shite ton of work to try to set himself and family up to obtain life changing wealth and because he made a mistake, then he shouldn’t do whatever possible to appeal that decision in some way?
When you play significant snaps at rb for lsu, I can promise you, that scholarship wasn’t free

Why don't you believe this is plausible? If a player/student is not making progress toward a degree program by taking classes that do not count toward that degree and falls under the required 12 hours then he becomes ineligible. Pretty cut and dry.
Because I find it really hard to believe this player has taken 36 hours and none of them being towards a degree.
I’m going with 36 because in another thread someone posted needing 18 per year which is even less than I thought needed. I always thought full time was 24, so between the fall, spring, and summer you needed 24 hrs.
He was a 2019 recruit so he’s had 2019 fall, 19 winter intersession 20 spring, 20 summer, 20 fall, 20 winter intersession, 21 spring and 21 summer to take classes.
He’s had to have taken some general course requirements.
And his degree is general studies as I thought.
