I don't think too many people, if any, are saying that Johnson is THE problem. But he doesn't appear to be the answer, at least at this point, at THE most important position. We fully understand that no QB can fix all of the other issues with the team, but this happens to be a position where we have a possibility of improving with Nussmeier, and eventually Brennan when he comes back, whereas some people thought Max was the best QB on the roster coming into the season.

We'll see how Nussmeier does going forward, if they give him more opportunities, but he certainly had a better presence about him last night than what we've seen from Max these first two games. It just so happened that the receivers dropped even more passes for him.

We still can’t run the ball.

When you're QB is too scared to throw the ball further than 10 yards, and even then has trouble making accurate throws, that becomes a huge problem for running the ball.

we have no offensive identity, the offense lacks consistency

Again, when a QB doesn't throw deep passes, that's basically a third of an offensive identity, which then affects the other parts of the offense. You can't have consistency when you have a QB making the plays he is making.

So yes, Max is a HUGE part of the problem

He is part of the problem. His accuracy has just been so-so. Not talking about complete misses, but the ones that are a little high or behind that are caught, but take away yards-after-catch opportunities.

That being said, it’s something he and the receivers can work on and improve. And the coaches need to pick up they tempo a bit; give the entire offense a chance to get into a rhythm.

Max's biggest issue right now is he's clearly uncomfortable.

I'm sure most of that is because he has no faith in his Oline, BUT even when they are giving him time he is still panicking. I'm sure getting physically abused last week has alot to do with that.

Nussmeier obviously hasn't had to go through that yet which is why he's 100% more confident.

I want to see Nussmeier get meaningful snaps next week.

This is not the question and it’s odd an way to frame it.

Is Nuss better/are we better with Nuss? That’s it.

“Not actively being a problem” is not a reason to do something

No Max is not the problem. And those wanting Nuss to start, check the stats. Coaching and the o line is the problem. Y’all keep making comparisons to Burrow, as if replace max with burrow and we’re good. That’s bull shite. We had an EXCELLENT offensive staff in 2019. Don’t revise history just cuz Ed O has shown his colors. Ensminger was a pretty damn good play caller and he and Brady were dynamic together. Let’s not forget the job Brady did coaching up the receivers. The summer of 10,000 catches. Let’s also not forget how much credit Big D Joe gave to analyst Jorge Munoz. This coaching staff can’t come close.

But shite, maybe if we had a decent o line, we’re not having this conversation.

Anyone wanna mention how bad our receivers are except for Boutte? We dropped the ball all last season and it still continues. Funny how local media props these guys up so much in the off-season as the greatest thing ever and they crumble.

As predicted the narrative from the Max worshipers has completely flipped on its head. How many threads like this are we gonna have today?

Max is absolutely one of the problems...

- Holds the ball too long, which makes the OL look even worse
- Misses wide open receivers
- Extremely inaccurate
- Cannot throw the ball down the field
- Cannot get the play called quick enough because he has to be spoon fed

I consider these issues problematic. The opposing teams are very happy that he is the starter

Yeah right. Just like Brennsn was not the problem. Stop drinking the cool aid.,
