Max's blind, over the shoulder throw against UCLA

While ill advised, it looks like Max knew exactly where JaRay was located and he was coming back toward the line. It came within 1-2 yards of being completed, albeit for a short gain. It was an incredibly athletic play by Max and, had it been completed, would have been one of ESPN's "Top 10 Plays of the Day". Not our objective, but very quick thinking and execution by Max.

The defender was just as close to intercepting it.

some serious sunshine pumping right here

Look, I like Max and think he's the guy for the Job but that throw was bad. He would tell you the same thing.

ill advised?

and it could have EASILY been returned for a pick 6 like TJ's ill-advised pass vs. A&M. Take the sack to live another down. Stupid passes like that are the one's that get players benched.

Technically Jaray was closer

No.
It was ridiculous thinking, it was out of fear and confusion, and by no means should it be "celebrated".
And, "quick thinking and execution"??? That's laughable.
He had time to determine the play was a bust, so instead of possibly compounding the problem by throwing a no look, behind-the-back pass...he should've taken the sack and lived to fight another day. He got extremely lucky it wasn't picked, or was a pick-6.

That might have been e dumbest thing I’ve seen a high level QB do
Not even a high school QB would do something that dumb

Couldn’t take the sack. Needed to just force it (forwards) at the most relatively open guy.
I’d like to think we would’ve gone for it had he not just done what he did.

You should have stopped right here.
It was a fricking STUPID play and you are fricking STUPID for trying to justify it.

If the options are we he did and take a sack...then you 100% take the sack.
Sure, if he could've thrown one away legally, then of course that's the better option, but I'm talking about at that specific moment in time.

B.S. it was 3rd down. Take the sack. Still in FG range. If a sack would have caused us to be out of FG range then it would be considered a somewhat cool play. Otherwise, that was a horrible decision - no matter how athletic a play it was.

Why did the receiver on the left run a cross slant instead of an out is my question. Poor play calling on 3rd down

I’ve seen some stupid shite on the rant, like really fricking stupid. To the point of truly questioning humanity’s future. But this, I mean this, has got to be the absolute most moronic, idiotic, insanely stupid, terribly ill conceived, fricking neuron fire I’ve seen in my 10+ years as a lurker/poster on this board. To suggest that a QB throwing a fricking behind the back, blind throw out of sheer panic was actually good decision making takes the biggest fricking cake there is of stupidity. I cannot believe I actually read that…. fricking next level moronic.

Wooow! There was no intent to complete that pass...

Watching the video he needs to throw it in front of Jaray at exactly 1:20 on the game clock.
The official got in the way of both receiver and defender, but had he led Jenkins towards the sideline he probably could’ve caught up to it.
