I don't think business has the right to mandate vaccines.

It's a personal matter.
Sure, we have the freedom to work somewhere else. But do we really? If the Government is pressuring business to mandate vaccines as a means of achieving full vaccination status, is there really going to be a choice?
We already have business censoring content on the internet and promoting bazzare social mores.
Isn't it clear that business has been coopted by government, and government by business?
They intend to control us, not 8 hours a day, which is understandable, but 24 hours a day.
Is that free Enterprise?
If that's free Enterprise, scew it.

It's fine...but I think they should be held accountable if one of their employees has an adverse reaction to the vaccine.
Right now, the gov and businesses are gleefully demanding that everyone take the vaccine...but no one is willing to be held accountable in the tiny chance that something goes wrong.

I agree they shouldn't have a day in healthcare. I'd love to see healthcare decoupled from employment all together.

It’s interesting. There hasn’t been any legislation, to my knowledge, protecting entities mandating vaccinations for employees.
If someone experiences a severe reaction from a vaccine due to a mandate, I hope they sue so we can see that play out.
Probably very judge dependent.

Some states have passed laws prohibiting vaccine mandates.

I guess the question is how do you mix that with the right to hire who you want for your company?
I would be ok with something that prevents medical changes and requirements for existing employees but allows new hire requirements to be set.
Some kind of compromise around that wouldn't be too bad and would atleadt not force people to choose their job over their health

Ive asked the question about that in another thread... The prohibition in Florida specifically.
Does it ban companies not based in Florida from doing so? e.g. United Airlines who operates out of Florida, but is based in Chicago

Yes. It’s the definition of fascism and we are living under it.

The FDA. This all about, since the vaccine is "approved" we can now mandate it.

It's a struggle and a fight. I know who is right and stands on the moral high ground.

So, you're fine with discriminating against people who make their own health choices, especially when it involves a virus with a 99+% survival rate? That is the kind of lunatic thinking that needs to stop.

It’s a de facto mandate. They will say it’s not a mandate but when you need a vaccine to work, travel, go to school, or even enter private businesses (NOLA/NYC), it’s a fricking mandate.

That question is being decided in court. Cruise lines with vaccine mandates are challenging the Florida law. Unfortunately it may be a while before we have an answer to clarify the issue.

I was just proposing a middle man solution. I think the ideal solution is they have no say in healthcare what so ever. Everyone's healthcare being tied to employment is a fricking disaster.

I'd rather the government be involved in what A business is doing than my personal decisions indirectly.

I believe that the employer’s right to mandate went out the door when the CDC acknowledged that the vaccine doesn’t stop spread. It’s essentially a treatment for the individual patient, which falls out of the employer’s business concerns.
