From afar, there appears to be something profoundly wrong with the program since the NC.

I don't pretend to be an insider, but since the end of 2019, the coordinators have consistently been outschemed and outcoached. There have been innumerable missed assignments, errors, uninspired or predictable play calls, instances of poor technique, and episodes of general confusion and dismay.

Worse yet, some of the players seem indifferent. They loaf, they trot, they passively observe, they tackle poorly, they drop balls, they pout, they timidly yield. I sometimes get the impression that they are just going through the motions. There are certain players who are obviously working hard, but others appear to be emotionally absent.

Perhaps most alarming, it is clear that Orgeron has failed in his sole real function: consistent recruiting. We are rich with talent at some positions, but lacking at other key spots. OL continues to be a disappointment.

Alabama is already a juggernaut. Other SEC programs are building consistent, professional, disciplined juggernauts. It appears that LSU is regressing, shambling and disorganized and without a plan. As constituted, how can this program contend for dominance in the SEC on an annual basis? It's hard to muster enthusiasm for watching this team when they don't appear capable of consistently competing at the highest levels. I'll continue to support them, but without much real hope or interest. Maybe time will prove me wrong. I certainly hope so.

O's record outside of the NC year is pretty awful. He caught lightening in a bottle and stayed the hell out of the way for one year.

Joe Burrow
Joe Brady
Dave Aranda
Chase

All gone. That’s the difference.

It’s not hard to figure out the issue, the CEO model doesn’t work when the CEO is a fricking idiot.

If he didn’t fall arse backwards into Burrow he’d be back at USC coaching the DL

Recruiting has been good actually, not sure how that doesn’t take a dip soon though

LSU needs to hire a coach that has sustained success year in and year out. I’m not even talking about Saban level because he’s a once in a generation top tier coach. 2019 was who we thought Orgeron was…a good recruiter who relies on top notch coordinators for game prep and management. Without that formula, you get what we saw last night.

Orgeron relies on his assistants to do the job but when he hires the wrong ones, it all falls apart. Aranda, Brady and Ensminger were elite compared to what we have now. That’s the difference.

Lines are soft and get pushed around.

Linebackers and safeties are constantly confused leading to them being consistently out of position, missing assignments, and wiffing on tackles.

I see zero urgency in the offense. They constantly wait to snap the ball until the playclock is near zero, even when behind late in the game. Tempo offense could have gone a long way towards blunting UCLA's blitzing.
