What did they reimburse you for the generator, what you paid or $800? Heard they would only reimburse up to $800 but I paid $900 for mine.

Thanks

How did you upload receipts(what sections)?

Go to the Upload Center tab. Then hit Next and follow the instructions.

Rental assistance for temporary housing until utilities are restored or house livable

Mine still says pending but if you go to correspondence link it shows me 2 acceptance letters that tells me what they are giving me and that it will be deposited in my checking account

I was able to upload the receipt. It’s hidden. You have to click the tab at the top and find the upload option, then look for miscellaneous receipt. I don’t know if it will get approved, but I was able to upload the receipt that way.

Did uploading a receipt allow you to get reimbursed for your generator?

I already had applied and have an account now, so I am trying to figure out how to get the generator reimbursement. Everywhere I check says to apply online, but I did that before I knew about the generator. Do I just upload the receipt now and hope it gets approved?

Did you do anything specifically to apply for the generator reimbursement? I don't remember any questions about generators when I was doing the application over a week ago. Thanks

Most of the questions are listed on fema.gov that keep getting asked over and over

Hurricane Ida Survivors May be Eligible for Generator and Chainsaw Reimbursement

Applicants who purchase or rent a generator and/or chainsaw between Aug. 26, 2021 and Sept. 25, 2021, may be eligible to receive financial assistance for reimbursement if:

quote:

Proof-of-purchase or rental receipts for the items are submitted by the applicant

quote:

FEMA may reimburse applicants up to $800 for generators and up to $250 for chainsaws

upload your generator receipt where it says "UPLOAD CENTER". click next. select assistance type "OTHER MISCELLANEOUS". select document type "OTHER ESTIMATE/RECEIPT". click confirm and wait for them to open it. once it is approved denied whatever, it will be in the correspondence center.

Yeah but they keep saying "may" be reimbursed. What the people are asking is what qualifies which they are being vague about.

This is a good point. I guess no harm in uploading my receipt though.

Now, should someone go buy a generator this week with the hope of it being reimbursed? That could be risky.

We only know what the website says may be reimbursed. Has to be bought or rented for Ida disaster.

Why some get approved and other don’t no one knows

But even if you dont rent anything thats what you have to check to get approved because it covers the gas and stuff to keep your current house going.

So I clicked no, because I wasnt renting anything, but I did have costs in keeping my house going trying to save food and some.

Keep it in the box and return if it isn't reimbursed
