I have not heard of a single looting complaint since Ida left town. Did masks prevent that also??

Hell, why loot when you're already getting all your shite for free?

That’s a thing of the past. People respect each other’s property now.

There are a few cases of looting, but NOPD is swarming pretty well right now. Mostly isolated cases in The East

Fatigue will set in with them.

Saw a story about looting two convenience stores in NO this morning. Owner was upset that not only did they clean her out, but they trashed the stores too.

Unlike Dubya, Creepy Uncle Joe doesn’t hate black people.

not as many evacuated in New Orleans as in Katrina, thus more people likely to shoot looters.

It's been happening in NOLA. Not super widespread but happening.

According to WWL, officer involved shooting in Metairie somewhere around Veterans. Big police presence there. Yesterday, they had a police officer, driving his own vehicle and not in his NOPD gear or anything, and was driving over the Mississippi River bridge, heard the glass in his window bust, and then realized he was grazed in the head by a bullet. Drove himself to the hospital and is fine but just a bizarre thing to happen.

Because the media doesn’t want to paint a negative picture of the people who are looting.

Most of my neighbors are waiting another day or two without power before they leave - so I’m waiting

Maybe the Cajun navy needs an army. Call it the Alabama baws. Whenever the power goes out after a storm the Alabama baws step in for land patrols.

Or just cut off a few hands of looters. It works the world over as a pretty good deterrent.
