Yea. If you're going to go back, you should know that you are on your own. There's no food, water, gas, supplies. Get in, do what needs to be done, and get back out.

For people headed i10 west, from anywhere east of Mobile, traffic is crazy. The causeway was shut down this morning (might still be, haven't been past it again). There was also a wreck on the bay way in the early morning. Traffic is backed up for miles. I've countless Louisiana tags headed west. If y'all get on 31, be careful. There's a ton of construction going on between 181 and 90/98.

I need to get some supplies to a relative in LaPlace tomorrow, coming from Hancock County, MS. What do ya'll think is my best bet for a route?

Heading back to Houma from TN loaded down with supplies. Can we take 55 to 90 and thru des allemands?
Was recommended to go thru Natchez to BR but that’s way out the way.

All interstate systems in Louisiana are open to traffic
Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at 1:46:00 PM
Baton Rouge - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces that all interstate systems in Louisiana are open and travel lanes are clear of debris following Hurricane Ida. Crews recently completed clearing debris from I-10 and I-55 in the Baton Rouge and Hammond areas. Please keep the travel lanes clear for the response efforts to areas affected by the storm.
“DOTD crews have worked around the clock to get all of Louisiana’s interstates reopened, and I’m extremely grateful to them for their tireless work,” said DOTD Secretary Shawn D. Wilson, Ph.D. “But we still urge motorists to keep the interstates clear for emergency responders, as undue traveling could potentially burden emergency services. Check with your parish before returning because essentials like food, water and gas can be hard to come by and local, state and federal responders have already begun the recovery process. Let’s all work together to recover from this storm.”
Many other state roadways remain impacted by the storm and DOTD crews from around the state are working to clear them. Please check 511la.org before traveling, and check with parish officials before returning to impacted areas.
Safety is of the utmost importance for our crews and our motorists. DOTD appreciates your patience as crews work swiftly to clear the roadways.

Are people just supposed to sit by while their roof/windows leak every time it rains causing more damage?
Exactly, im so glad i went to thibodaux today, had a gas leak and shut the gas off, that would have just been running for a week if we waited.

My father in law just went the opposite way, from Reserve to Waveland taking airline to I-310 and then onto I-10 east.

Do they expect the flooding on I-10 in LaPlace to subside by tomorrow?

Is traffic bad between Bay St Louis & I-65 before Mobile?
Looking to go north on I65 tomorrow.
Also, is gas available east of Bay St Louis?
Thanks for any responses.

What type of supplies?
I only say this as I can possibly meet you in Nola/metairie so you don’t have to drive all the way in.

Clear. There was some water and trees you could get around but I believe that’s been cleaned up.

I10 is open all the way into the city. If you need to get off in LaPlace you can take the 3188 exit then 61 all the way through.

I’m driving tomorrow from Bham to New Orleans (1800 block St Charles Ave) to pick up my sister and bring her here until power is restored. I usually get off Exit 12D Carondelet St? I think? - will I have any trouble & need to detour to another exit? It looks clear on Waze but who knows if that’s right…Thank y’all for all you do!
