My cousin is in Venice, LA. He loves riding out the storms though.

We’ve had some pretty gnarly thunderstorms plus a major ice storm.

The hurricane subsequently weakened due to another eyewall replacement cycle, and Katrina made its second landfall at 1110 UTC on August 29, as a Category 3 hurricane with sustained winds of 125 mph (205 km/h), near Buras-Triumph, Louisiana. At landfall, hurricane-force winds extended outward 120 miles (190 km) from the center and the storm's central pressure was 920 mbar (27 inHg). After moving over southeastern Louisiana and Breton Sound, it made its third and final landfall near the Louisiana–Mississippi border with 120 mph (190 km/h) sustained winds, still at Category 3 hurricane intensity.

I'd hate for anything bad to happen but if there is anything good that comes out this storm, maybe it'll make it apparent how bad she is at her job to her constituents
She is, and I hope the same for her future.
I will say that she was probably shot down on the State level, but any leader that believed would have pushed and pushed. Would have called out the governor or whoever and told everyone to get the frick out.

No. Cold air hurts a hurricane.
The other poster said it extracts the heat energy to turn it into wind and cold air.
Any warm air the hurricane spits out is not totally consumed fuel. So when it’s ice cold air as indicated by the pink dots it means Ida is extracting all the energy she can out of the warm air until it’s ice cold.
Basically Ida is on a coke binge right now and the bitch is cleaning her plate

That is not a Cat 2 hurricane currently.

I don’t get that. I feel like the entire island will be under water. The gulf will probably reach the locks in Golden Meadow. I can’t imagine the winds they’ll get either. Gonna be tuned into the Grand Isle live cam

Pretty sure she wanted people to stay so it's a bigger disaster and more federal money.

Based on where that eyewall is what are the chances it heads hard north east and Louisiana end up barley west of the eye?

I know my mistake Rummy.
It's that Cat 4 conditions existed in parts of Louisiana, but it wasn't a 4 when it actually came across land.
You're right.

No one should be around those common names. I mean, besides wind, the spin up nados and torrential rains everywhere is a hard nope.

It is really just splitting hairs. It could have had Cat 4 winds somewhere. I haven't looked at the report in years.

Very compact, perfectly symmetric eye of rapidly intensifying Hurricane Ida with hints of mesovortices approaching the coastline of southeast LA. Looks like an earlier landfall by early to mid afternoon. Already tropical storm force winds at buoy off Grand Isle LA
