I keep telling myself we have better leadership now when compared to Blanco and Nagin, but I'm really not sure.

Does Sid in the Lakeshore really mean in Sid in the French Quarter or Sid by Children’s hospital? Because those are about the only two neighborhoods in New Orleans that won’t lose power in 60-70 winds.

They wont lose power for a week bro

I wish everyone could bid on a color. I’d put a huge bid on Teal (COTI).

Just heard that Cantrell said that there isn’t enough time to do contraflow. Any thoughts on that?

She's a retard. They didn't call for a mandatory evacuation of New Orleans until Sunday... the day before Katrina. The first and only mandatory evacuation of New Orleans in its history.

TRUTH
There's still 2+ days before we get bad weather.
Its a lazy attempt at an excuse because she has not the first clue as to what her job is.

I feel so stupid booking something and evacing Nola now. Nola will barely feel it if it’s going over there.

Same uptown.

This wind looks like it will be coming directly from the south, which has me personally more worried.

I'm protected on the East/West. This wind will be coming right at me.

Youre damn near plagiarizing RDS. I award you no upvote and my god have mercy on your soul.

So should people in BR / pville area stay or go somewhere? Have no idea how to interpret all of this info

If you have somewhere to go you should go.

Not everyone has a solid evac plan though.

I'm bringing my 4 year old to Pville instead of keeping her in NOLA. I think there are probably better plans than that.

When did he make a joke like that? I'm plagiarizing myself from yesterday if anything.

My place is an interior unit 3 floors up and my car is on the 4th floor, haven’t lost power here in the 3 years I’ve been here

I’ll be leaving, albeit to a worse place storm-wise

Destrehan, whole home generator though. Basically my decision came down to which situation more likely guarantees I will have a/c

Man I know what you mean but there’s still enough uncertainty to be wary of this thing

That’s still showing we’d get 60-70 mph winds and a TON of rain. Do not feel silly for leaving. We are still 48 hours from landfall. Just go and hope nothing happens to Nola.

Power outages likely the worst part unless you have big trees near your house.

I’ve got a generator and no large trees so going to ride it out and hope no tornado spins off

Would being without power for a week (or possibly longer) cause you significant problems beyond inconvenience?

Do you have an old house?

Do you have tall pine trees around your house?

Do you have young kids?

Do you have a job that requires wifi or cell service?

Do you live in an area that floods regularly?

If the answer to any of those questions is yes, I would consider leaving.
