Does anyone have any recommendations on a road trip from the Baton Rouge area? We will be gone for 5 days, and we are willing to drive 10 hours one way to a destination. Just not sure where to go. Open to anything (beach, city, mountains).
Thanks for any and all recommendations/advice

Chattanooga (8 hours) - Rock City, Ruby Falls, Incline Railway, Aquarium, and mountains (somewhat)
Gatlinburg/Townsend (10 hours) - Smoky Mountains and a million touristy things to do.
Nashville (8 hours) - Very popular safe bachelorette party destination, lots of bars, etc.
San Antonio (7 hours) - Riverwalk, Spanish missions, tubing on the Guadeloupe, Alamo

Look into Highlands, NC. My wife and daughter have taken a couple mother/daughter trips there.

I think western North Carolina is outside of your time/distance range, but if you end up heading this way, let me know and I'll share some favorites (not sure how old your daughter is -- mine is 11). We take mother-daughter trips about once per quarter, often in WNC.

What do y'all like to do? Age of daughter?
We have friends that did a mom/daughter trip to Waco and Laurel because they really like Fixer Upper and Home Town on HGTV.

Or, St. Louis. You could stop in Memphis for a night going or coming. Rather than taking the interstate you could take the river road.

Try The Pearl in Rosemary Beach.

Jacksonville and Amelia Island are right next to each other. So you could do city for a couple days and beach for a couple days.

Yeah I was kind of thinking the same. Look at the J.W. Marriott Resort and Spa north of the city.

I think Nashville would be a good trip

I'll second the Highlands if you're into outdoors/hiking/rafting. They also have some good restaurants and shopping. You could daytrip to Asheville if wanted to visit some breweries and the Biltmore.
If you're looking for a beach and want something different, try Sanibel Island.
Both of these are probably 10-11 hrs depending on your drive speed but are worth the drive.

Palmetto Bluff would be nice. Not sure how long the drive is.
