I know some one who's making $16 n hour, doing a delivery job. I talked to him and my boss about getting him over to the place i work, different position, but he'd be delivering product still, but at a $15-18K raise, plus way better health benefits, and company benefits.

It was just about to be finalized, and he told me that it's a no go, because he heard we do random drug checks, and he's going to stay where he's at.

Some people definitely are very addicted to it, however it’s pretty easy to quit compared to most additions because there is no real physical addiction

More about freedom and low stress. Some people just would rather be able to be happy and smoke pot.

For some people, yes.

Pot is as addictive as anything else, no matter what people say.

That does not mean it should be illegal though.

Life choices have lasting effects. He made his, now he should own it. I am indifferent if he chooses to use or not.

But I have seen this movie before. That guy will claim his entire life that he was always set back due to muh racism.

He's dumb, but so is your company for testing for weed. If people want to get blazed on their own time who cares? It's certainly not any worse than most of this board who gets shite faced every night and screams at the TV with Fox News on.

I don’t really see the need for random drug tests. I don’t give a damned if you’re shooting up heroin in a bathroom stall as long as you’re a rock star during working hours.

Eh, kinda

But the withdrawal symptoms, while mild, can last a long time. Particularly sleep disturbance issues

Sure it’s not something harder than weed he’s worried about?

Better question would be what would you give up for a 50% raise.

I was working for a company that got sold and the new company had a re-hire process. That process included a drug test. We all knew it was happening and when. Some dolt failed the test for pot.. They actually kept him on. I guess his bosses spoke up for him.

It’s not addictive, but I can understand why people prioritize it. It can be really useful and really fun to use regularly to the point that one wouldn’t want to go about their daily life without it.
